Leveling question

would it be better to 3 box, 2 locks 1 priest, instance/quest/grind to +60, or to use one of my 70s to run 1 or 2 toons in instances and help with quests? what 1 is faster?

I'd suggest Questing with all three at the same time. If you were to carebear the others up then you'd be left with one character behind the rest of the pack, and you'd have to then level that up as well. With Questing avoid the "Collect X amount of Y Item" Quests as doing this for each character will slow you down loooots. If you've got a copy of Joana's leveling guide then use that as a base and then cut out the annoying collection Quests.

Instances are faster if you rarely die. After level 25ish, figure you need to run each instance 10-15 times, full clear, before moving to the next one. Questing is similar exp but you still have gaps because you skipped collection quests. Plus PvP.... etc.

It will be about 10 - 12 days played to 60, assuming you are semi casually leveling. A highly optimized boxing quest guide would probably be the fastest, but none exists.

Atm im full time (sun up to long after sun down hehe), my new computer is getting put together as we type im just gettin ready. school starts in about a month tho /cry. then i need to start lookin for a job also (mainly to get 3more computers).


i think doing instances full time would be the most fun for me because ive played solo for a long time, and now im lookin to make the game more fun. not to long ago my bros stoped playing so i got 2 more accounts so im up to 3, but i dont what to keep playing my 70 much because i dont think ill keep playing if i do.

I've been using my 70 mage to push my 4 other mages through in SM (herod wing...whatever it's named). I can make 4+ bubbles on the mages per 15 minute run which is great considering I generally try to get a level a day and then go do something else (I'm seeing between 100 and 150 per kill in there with the nice 5man group bonus). I've done 27 to 35 in there so far (leveled to 27 using quests, but to be honest I HATE quests). If you have issues with the alts dying then leave them safely back from mobs and go kill with the main. At level 32/33 I could safely keep the mages with me and do 5x AoE

Might try pushing them to 36 or 37 there and then go do the "repeatable" mana surges quest to get to about 44. It's up in the air after that.

Coming from DAoC where we always did massive grind sessions to PL alts I'd rather do it this way than quest.

hpavc is correct. I plan on starting/stopping the quest with my 70 and single target pulling with my 4 little mages.

Fins were ok...but redcaps for the win! Or if you were into exploiting....boxes in Raum. God I miss being able to really really PL.

Ya, too bad WoW leveling isn't like DAoC...

I got my Mauler 1 to 50 in under 3 hours. Necro, Cleric, Friar, Wizard, Wizard, Wizard, Wizard, and of course the Mauler. I found a spot inside the S.I. Orc dungeon (damn, can't think of the name now) where there's about 30-40 red-purple con slimes that respawned almost instantly. Pull about 20 with the Necro, pbaoe em down.

At the time, there was a 200% bonus for SI. And Mythic had just implemented the /noexp switch, so the twink got full experience.

When the Friar's static tempest was up, I'd pull all of em. If I remember right, I think the Mauler went from 19 to 22 in one pull like that.

To this day, I don't think anyone else knows about that PL spot. IMHO, it was just as good as Mid's Modernagrav.

Solo 1-50 in DaoC is a breeze compared to.. a solo hunter in WoW. Then there's the "exp split between players" thing in WoW. It's no problem if you can (afford to) multibox enough clients to farm instances or AE farm, but when you are a poor dualboxer like me, if you've burnt out on the Azeroth grind before, prepare to say goodbye to the world of warcraft again.

Muahhaha - I was pushing 55k exp per HOUR with this.

Need a 35+ or so mage to trigger the quest and I used my 60 holy priest to cross AOE heal.

Yeah, there needs to be more quests like that :) Especially from 35-60.
