Just posting this for anybody like me that was converting their reset raid back to party when resetting instances...

On my 6th account I have a 60 Mage that I use for free food/water/ports for my teams as well as my goto to reset instances when my 5man teams are ready for a reset.

I was aware that being in a Raid with 6+ characters can reduce XP so I have been, after reseting instances, promoting my 5man team back to raid leader and then kicking my 6th character and converting back to party to make sure I didn't negatively affect my XP (and to allow me to progress quests when relevant).

I then saw (I think on the ISboxer Discord) someone mention that being in a raid doesn't negatively affect your XP if the 6+ person(s) are not in the instance (or not within range to affect XP). This makes sense but I never really thought about it and so I tested it and he/she is correct that the XP isn't negatively affected.

Kinda sucks that I have been wasting all those extra steps every reset so I figured I would share this for anyone else who made the same assumptions I did (or just didn't really think about it)...

Now I am just keeping my team in a 6man raid with my 6th character out of the instance ready to reset when needed. This may end up biting me some when I finally have a quest to complete in an instance but I have had enough quest completion issues due to being raid that I think of it pretty quickly these days (and is typically relevant only on the 1st clear or for a specific objective anyway).

That person in discord helped me so I am passing this on and I hope this thread helps others...

Good to know. Will save on changing loot type too. I think the default is that every time you switch to raid it defaults to group loot, so I was manually changing that back every time I reset back to party.

Yes I was getting that as well for a long time and typically would have to loot the first pull on every character until I manually fixed it (each reset over and over). I think at one point I at least partially addressed that in EMA but it overall it was part of the overall pain prompting me to share the good info I was given.
