Hi all.

Im currently running 7 instances of just gathering in WoW with some lag.Set up is :

RAM: 32 GB
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2400g
GPU:RX 570 4GB
Motherboard:ASRock A320M_HDV (AM4)

As I said,it does lag a bit on lowest settings.I just need the characters for gathering so I dont care at all about increasing the quality.I would like however to have it run smooth on those low settings and maybe put an 8th instance or even take it to 10man.Thoughts on what to upgrade first?Im thinking CPU probably but not sure which one to be able to have more instances.

Thanks in advance!

WOW, I'm surprised that even works. Are you on classic or retail? How many of the instances are you actively displaying, and at what resolution?

It seems like both the CPU and GPU are quite underpowered for multiboxing. That CPU is only 4 cores, 8 threads. I always thought the minimum for WoW classic was 1 core, 2 threads per instance, and the minimum recommended for retail was double that - i.e. 2 cores, 4 threads per instance.

At least with an AM4 motherboard you can upgrade the CPU simply by dropping in a Ryzen 7 2700(x)/3700x (8 core, 16 thread) for $200-300.

I also think the amount of GPU memory (4GB) is quite low, but I think the CPU is holding you back more.

Open task manager, load your games up and see what is maxing out. Then you'll have an idea of where your bottleneck is.

Im on retail. It works OK on outside world with some frame drops that Id like to smooth out even at low settings, lags a lot on cities.I just have one monitor for farming herbs/ores and another for just netflix or whatever.CPU works at around 70%,RAM at 60% and GPU at 50% with 7 instances and all of that just a higher up with 8 but it's unplaylabe as it has constant frame drops.

So I guess getting the 3700x would be a good start.
