you guys who 10box+ ..how do you keep them together? You cant quest in raids..do you form as a raid, then separate? that works if your going to be in the same zone for awhile. But when i zone into a new zone it almost always separates my two groups into different phases. I am doing 2 teams of 4 druids. Prepping/practicing for herbing on 8 druids for shadowlands ( if they don't nerf the multitap thing )

Actually, any tips/advice for boxing two groups would be appreciated. I plan on leveling two teams of 4 doing quest as well during shadowlands. ( only 8 due to one bnet ) no plan to add 2 more accounts.

Im doing it on one PC btw.

Honestly, I don't think there is any massive secret to it. I quested with a 15-box as 3 parties of 5. If moving zones (or something else) messed with the phasing, I would just drop group, form up as a raid to force the same phase, drop group again and then form the parties. Takes less than a minute and I'd assume you're not normally swapping zones every 10 minutes, so I doubt it's much of a hassle really.

It was overkill but back when I 10 boxed I would have every member of one party set a focus of a member of the other party. Then I would use VideoFX to view those focus slots on my main. Then I could tell if any went out of range of the others and knew they lost follow.

Side info:

this is why, when you are levelling, always try to do all the quests on all your characters in a zone: to avoid some characters to suddenly become phased from your main.

If you use the EMA addon, you can tweak the appearence of the team member list on screen: you can change it so that the name of a character turns f.ex black if it looses follow, and f.ex red, when it is still in combat. When all characters have a white background again, they are all out of combat and ready to mount up and carry on. Its convenient.

Ofc, the EMA addon can also warn you if a character is out of follow range. But i guess you know this already.

I stopped using Jamba some time ago because i thought it was too big for the benefit.
I have note tried the follow up version by Ebony though.

I am planning to go from 5 to 8 box in the upcoming leveling phase. I was already thinking about that problem.
One comment got me thinking. Assuming i would run with 2x4, would setting a focus to the other team member keep my two groups in the same phase?
I also am struggling because since i am running 8 different classes i might have to separate for the covenant quest line if i don t pick the same for everybody....

I will try EMA to see if i did not overlook some features.

I use two buttons to handle the phasing issues

1) /script LeaveParty();

2) Just a basic invite macro for each 4 party group (On the first group I use 2 macros one to form a party and the other to form a raid with all 8 if I need to get them back on the same phase...)

That way with just a couple button presses your toons will all leave group then be re-invited..

Questing with 8 is really nice the majority of quests you only need to do one time... all 8 get kill credit for most quests.. if you go up to 10+ then you end up having to do many quests more than once so they all get credit..

The DynamicBoxer addon works great for dismissing your groups, forming a raid, and then reforming 2x4 groups quickly when phasing happens.
