With Blizzard sending out a survey about TBC it seems almost assured that TBC will happen.

What are people thinking would be the best 5 man team for TBC? I know a buddy of mine said Pally+Shaman x 4 is pretty nasty.

Only experience i have in classic TBC was the famous Prot Paly+4 Eleshams..the stacking totems ( if they let that stay in ) and all the healing ele could do.. just made it a very solid team that could easily beat any 5 man content and more. They could DPS and Heal+CC + bad ass stacking totems! I think some were doing 5 Ele shams a lot as well. Not to mention, they were awesome in PvP ( Right Ellay? )

Will it be a fresh server with TBC or will classic get it unlocked?

Im not sure.. im guessing it will unlock on some classic servers..TBC was a big hit, so i imagine they will need new servers as well.

Not really.
2 out of 4 possible answers were "Classic only"/keep my classic server pretty much.

Im thinking its not the most votes win kind of thing.. if enough people want TBC, i'm sure there will be some TBC servers available at some point. Kind of like how EQ does it..a variety of progression servers, maybe? I for one want WotLK.. that is when wow stopped feeling classic for me..ie before cataclysm.

Yeah, they should do a few time-locked progression servers for sure. Each expansion every 3/4 months. People would LOVE that as much as they do in EQ/EQ2.

By the way, where is the survey? I never saw it.

I was thinking of druid tank / 3x mage / resto druid. The reason for this setup is that I like playing as a resto druid and mage in arena. Though I'm not sure how good this team will be at clearing dungeons. If its shit, I'd rather have a better setup with at least a resto druid in the team.

Do you need a tank in TBC? I could also do resto druid / 4x mage. I'm guessing 4x blizzard and pet novas will be pretty good.

Or if melee is better: druid tank / 3x rogue / resto druid

Yes you need a tank until you get full dungeon/raid/arena gear. And I think you are going to see some of the same restriction to battlegrounds/arena as we have to day.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind some appropriate number of servers that were just the WotLK pre-event - the zombie invasion was amazing, and an unending version of that would be so cool.

considering follow will be removed in pvp aswell but iwt will certainly be in, the pally 4 shaman/5 shaman pvp meta would actually shift to shaman+4 paladin because the shockadin spec is bascially an elemental shaman in plate with less range/less mana reg but more burst and plays like melee. You can grind honor easily in eye of storm/alterac without follow. Its also quite easy to gear for shockadin with green boe plate armor "of the sorcerer" (sta+int+sp), its the best early game shocka gear there is. It also runs dongeons much smoother than pure eles since you're basically quadruple spelldamage tank with instant heals in plate armor with a shaman support on top.

However, I'd prefer to wait with that discussion until we get an actualy annoucement :)

follow being removed is a bummer which will hurt PvP quite a bit. With world pvp though the coordinated burst potential is still there and at this stage taking on even odds or even greater odds can be winnable outcomes. 5x Ele Shaman using their burst macro will definitely drop the first target and depending on gear can drop a second target through chain lightning. This being all instant and not much you can do unless you know it's coming.
Before I had 4 Shamans, I did 3 mages and they were also very effective in PvP and PvE but you lacked the sustainability with healing.
from a PvE perspective since the dungeons cap out at Heroic a lot of compositions should be viable. Even 5 Ele shamans should be able to power through all of the content.

all we need is follow working in arenas like it does on retail and no warmode then its gonna be awesome

currently follow breaks in arena as soon as pvp starts. So you got about 5-10 seconds.

seems enough to get on the bridge in blades edge. Thats 2k rating right there.

The only thing that breaks follow in Arena today is the blanket "PvP combat breaks follow" mechanic, which wasn't carried over to Classic, and so it may not be carried over to TBC Classic, since it seems to be a system that was really only implemented due to Retail's War Mode. So... multiboxing Arenas in TBC may actually be a thing, and that'd be very interesting. Blizzard was willing to specifically re-implement follow in Arenas after they removed it from both there and battlegrounds (https://web.archive.org/web/20130310042252/http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/8087929775?page=6), so I'd say that those looking to do TBC Arena have a good chance.
