Hey there everyone, im new to the whole dual boxing concept but I have been going over this site for some time, because I thought there had to be a post with people having similar issues to myself, reallyy didnt find anything though..well basically im having a couple problems...
1- I dont understand how you guys are using keyclone so effectively, controlling my first characteris fine, second is hitting stuff (walls/trees etc)
2- I have a 70 pally, and I want to do some instance runs to pwr level him, but so far any attempt to use keyclone with my pally on fullscreen, resulted in my alt dying no matter the level, so far it only worked if I turned keyclone off, ran through the whole instance and brought 100+ mobs back to the beginning of the instance so my alt gets exp.
3 - Maximizer is not working for me, I have set it to horizontaly split my screen, and wow just opens in normal windowed mode

I read alot of stickied forum posts and others, and attepted to use the search bar..but unless im reallyy missing something important, I dont understand why it isnt working..ny help would be appreciated

Unbind the movement keys (W,A,S,D) on your alt, and make a macro for him like:
/follow <main>

Bind that macro to some key, and just smash it when you are going to move. This will make your alt follow your main, instead of moving by himself.

I usually just park my alt at the entrance of the instance, gather a whole lot of mobs, bring them to my alt, and kill them there. Then I use the above mentioned macro to put the alt on follow and park him somewhere else, and repeat the whole thing. just keep the alt out of aggro range and you should do fine.

Can't help you with that one, all I can say is that I use Octopus' builtin maximizer, and it works like a charm. Maybe give us some info about your setup?

I find that maximizer does SOMETIMES do this, here is what I suggest you do to try and troubleshoot your problem.

1) Make sure that you have named the maximizer "windows" -or what ever you would like to call them - with the name of your accountname.

2) (This can follow on from step 1) - Once everything is set up, check that you are starting wow up with the keyclone program.

Glad i finally registered, going to start being more active now. I've started dual-boxing my frost mage and elemental shaman (L70) Just to blow through quests and dailies and just general farming/ganking :D

Hi there guys, and thanks for the fast responses..as too the maximizer response by Nhance, it actually did not work for me, i followed what you said and when i click connect, it still sends me to the normal windowed mode game :(...and thank you blubber for your response, I guess that would be the best way to run through a instance, but say if I chose to level 2 toons at the same time? how would I get around to do that? getting them to both walk together..attack same target..accept the same quests etc. thank you =) in advance

Howdy c0zm1kfury and welcome to the forums!

assuming your command is launching your wow, and the only problem is that it is not 'maximizing'... then you have 2 possible causes:
1. you did not specify the region correctly
2. another window is launching your wow

to rule out #1... go to the maximizer editor. click on the region. check the exact spelling in the 'region name' field:

compare that to the name specified in the 'region' field in the command editor. in these pictures, they do not match and you should correct it (changing the command is easiest)

assuming these fields match... your left with #2.

if you are running vista... that is the source of all your problems (of course). using windows explorer... find wow.exe... right-click... properties.
check to see if something like 'xp service pack 2 compatibility mode' is enabled or not. flip it.

there is some other language compatibility applications that run a top window for every application.. you can disable it under properties as well.

end result is that is does work... you just have to figure out the difference

Ok to the OP, as far as i can tell, your tri-boxing?
You have 2 low lvl toons and then a main paladin boosting them through sm right?

In that case, you can bing your mains movement keys (the paladin) to WSDAQE etc, then your 2 alts to <- -> and up and down arrows, or shift AWSDQE or numpad keys depending if you ar right or left handed, etc. then spells for your main 1234567 and then alts shift+1234567 / f1 f2 f3 f4 f5 etc etc etc

P.S I suggest you look at this: Beginners Guide 2 Dual-Boxing (3,4,5 boxing) ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=3339') <-- I used that to get me started on dual-boxing and it worked first time.

Hey there, no I was actually only dual boxing 2 accounts, and thinking of making a warlock/hunter (both being more ranged classes) but im just trying to see how dual boxing would enhance leveling so much, (im looking for the fastest possible way to level 1 OR 2 characters) so I understand the idea of dualboxing, but how does it improve the leveling process so effectively, as ive seen some people say.

Edit: sorry I didnt see the post by the admin, umm I looked over my settings and I found that I had named my profile type thing starting with a capital..I thought that would have fixed the problem fir sure, but after I changed that it still opened in the normal window (is there any wow settings I need?
and no im not running vista,win xp sp2 atm.
