hi everyone... I know your prolly thinkin this is gonna be one of those "QQ how do i get this stuff to work ooo i dont want to spend monees pleezzz halp" but I honestly just want to say hi and get your opinion on what i am plannin to 5 box. I have just recently gotten my Warlock to 70 and well, I love being a lock, but it is so hard to find a decent PUG on my server and my guild kicks butt (I am the GL after all) but most are on only certain times and we can ususally run a few groups a night I just want more :D! so... what would you guys think of this..

5locks

1(main) Deidriana (44/0/17) with imp

2(tank/heals) (0/40/20) with felguards

2(dps) (the sucky sac spec/destro)with succys sacked.

I really dont like pvp so this would be an instance group using felgaurds as tanks.

anyways thoughts/comments/flames all welcome :)

Just speaking for KS so I may be wrong on this, but he noted that when he tried Ramparts for the first time with his priest/lockx4 combo, his pets weren't able to hold aggro like they could pre-outlands.

I think that if you want to do instances without over-gearing or over-leveling them, you'll need a real tank.

Hi & welcome!

Just my opinion, but I'd bet that You''re going to need Heals, or a tank, or both in outlands. Pets & drains probably won't be enough.

Ive seen a few lock groups. Most of them are 4x locks & a priest. most of them are focused on PVP.

I think walking into an instance in outlands with 5 clothies, no heals, & no tank is going to require a new level of skill that I haven't yet mastered.
I did it with No tank but the no heals part I couldn't have done.

Remember though, Just because it hasn't been done doesn't mean it's impossible.

Good luck , & let us know how it goes.

My first try on ramps i got squished bad with VW tanking. But that was mostly due to way more rum than any evening should contain. Second night i ran through and trash was easy. First boss was cake. Second boss took two tries, and i never killed third boss (dragon and other dude). I really think if i had a second lock, instead of 3 mages i would have been ok. Just outland instances things can go to hell real fast and it's hard to cope with all cloth when you don't have a second tank. If you don't have a heal class in the group i would think that would make things alot harder. But it could maybe work. As an all cloth group (for now) i have learned i have limits. That's why once i get to 70 i'll be rolling a palli alt on one of my mage accounts. One day he will step in to do my tanking. I can't really speak much on the viability of other groups, since this is my first try 5 boxing. But, good luck!!

U could try 4 locks 1 preist, but i gues that a classic one. I how ever like having some kind of rare combo :P

I had a mid 60's lock that would always pull aggro off the void. I was demonology spec and had to carefully do dps. I can't imagine would it would be like in an instance though.

I highly suggest swapping out 2 locks for a pally/priest, warrior/priest, or pally/pally if you're only into PVE.

Thought I saw a video of someone rockin Ramps with 4 mages and a priest. But then again he had a healer and I'm not sure how far exactly he went.

I too like any story of someone running instances without the holy trinity.

Watch this ('http://www.vimeo.com/789870') video and consider adding a priest to the group of locks. But ultimately play whatever class composition you have fun playing.

I started my boxing career with 1xpriest and 4xlocks. At 36 I switched out two of the locks for a warrior and a mage. So my final team turned out to be Warrior (main), 2xlocks, priest, mage.

I switched out two of the locks on the advice I got here in the forums regarding a "real tank" in outland instances. I now wish I had kept all the locks. A real tank is probably good advice if you plan on doing a lot of instances... but it's just not my play style. I don't enjoy instances that much. I may do them once if at all... unless I am roped into it from guildies.

Consider your own play style before making any decisions. Do you plan on doing a lot of instances? If so you probably will need a real tank..but who's to say you can't bring a long a friend to tank for you and just leave one of the locks behind?

Personally the priest adds too many benefits to be left out of the group... but again.. that's just my opinion. But Fortitude goes along way as far as I am concerned.

Fit YOUR team to YOUR play style is the best suggestion I can make.

I made the choice to drop two of the locks... it was MY fault for doing it... I did NOT consider my play style when I made that choice.
