Hardest 5 man for you?

We all run strat live regularly, but were there any 5 mans that proved to be exceedingly difficult for your team?

Currently Baron in strat UD is proving to be a challenge, but that is more so my priest being undergeared. DM North is also rather difficult, lots of pats and I have a very hard time trying to do Kromcrush, usually by the time the adds come I am out of mana.

Maybe someone will see a post and have some tips or tricks. :)

The ghost area of DM:W obliterates my warriors. Got my pieces and gtfo.

Anything with adds is usually pretty hard. I think Baron was middle of the road hard. I found if my tank kept aggro, spammed shield block and used 1 holy water I could take him down without too much trouble. Getting to Baron is a huge PITA as I really hate the abomination gauntlet.

Scholo is pretty much off my list. I really hate all the trash you have to clear before any of the bosses.

The absolute worst though, is the troll boss area in ST. The trash mobs have fear and the stupid ghosts that follow one character make it just not worth the effort. Only 5 man I bailed on before even attempting a boss.

Overall, most classic dungeons have way too much useless trash to clear. If I had to do all these lvl 60 dungeons in PUGs I would have unsubscribed long ago. Don't even get me started on Molten Bore. Spending 1 hour clearing trash per boss is just maddening.

When your pally tank gets stunned, bubble and then stun him. If you have a pally healer then you can stun him a 2nd time. This should be enough time to kill him. If it's not, then bop the mage who gets aggro. You can position your highest dps mage further away from the other 2 so that when you bop them it gives you more time to dps.

What happens is he stuns my tank, as far as I can tell NOTHING prevents this. He then runs to my mages and bops them. Two auto's is enough for him to kill them. The tank is a warrior in REALLY good gear. The mages are pretty meh but do ~200-250 dps and have most of their pre-BiS. Group DPS is about 1k and he'll inevitably stun the tank a second time and go wipe the mages. When he gets there AA + trample and all ranged are mostly dead. It's very frustrating.

Im having similar problem with Doctor Theolen Krastinov in scholo. He would stun my tank and run to my mages and kill them.
I also find Lord Alexei Barov very difficult to kill.
My team is WMMMP.

Scholomance...The aoe shadowbolt casters and the knockback spirit guys are sooooooooooo annoying. I aoe farm all other dungeons just fine, but Scholo is such a pain in the ass. None of the bosses are much trouble except for Darkmaster Gandling and sometimes Alexei, but sometimes I just forget to swap to my heal macro I setup just for him.

But part of that is my fault for being one of if not THE laziest multiboxer out there lol. I have the crappiest macros, no serious CC setups, and have learned to work my way through an instance with the bare minimum of macroing/scripting effort. FFS I can't even effectively heal the rest of my team because I literally only use a target=player (my tank) macro to heal my main tank. To heal any other members I have to select my healer window and manually click another member lmao! If my tank dies I just wait for the rest of the team to die and release and start over :rolleyes:

I know how to do a more efficient healing setup, but I'm just so damn lazy to sit down and fix it all. I need to just spend a good few hours setting it all up and tweaking it, one day...one day...

I have strangely made it work and rarely wipe, but when I do wipe Scholo is the place it happens most. But it is also the dungeon I farm the most because Dark Runes drop like candy and sell so good on the AH lol. Plus my "main" which is not part of my multiboxing team uses them when raiding with my guild. My multibox team is just a fun distraction when I get bored on my main. I sometimes go a week without boxing and just solo play on my main.

All other dungeons are a cakewalk, no problems at all...well except UBRS, can't kill Drakkisath, but I can at least clear up to him as a 5man team. I run a bear tank, priest healer, mage x2, and a warlock.

I suggest you watch dalo’s video on how he cleared Drakisath. It worked for me:)

I'm running Pa/MMM/Pr or W/MMM/Pr (depends on my mood :o).
Except for some initial difficulties with Krastinov (aggro reset + enrage) I do not struggle in any instance.

It's far easier to farm instances with a paladin instead of warrior.
I really like running scholo... easy trash, average boss difficulty, high value loot (runes are 10g on my server :o) and lots of items to disenchant.

For peeps having issues with Ramstein... tank him on max range and intercept once the stun fades > taunt > back to max range.
If your dps' are average equipped you should be able to kill him on or before 2nd stun.
Also warriors... don't forget that you also have a secondary taunt in battle stance which lasts longer than the normal one; easy to get 100% aggro for 10s with it.

I just tank and spank him, I keep my dps at the doorway and tank him and his adds just out of range of his damage aura on the steps. I kill the adds first then burn him down. My special Alexei "heal macro" is just max rank greater heal lol. He is the only boss I have to spam max rank on. I usually use rank 1 everywhere else or rank 4 Heal. I can imagine how it might be more difficult with a paladin tank without a taunt. When my dps start to pull aggro I just taunt him back with my bear. He is usually dead before the first taunt wears off.

How do you deal with the little skeletons? they're immune to magic dmg. When I tnak on my warrior it's no big deal.

Paladin has a lot of holy damage... so np.
Warrior is dealing lots of physical damage (fury-arms spec, dual wield with partial leather items for hit)... so np.

In either cases the priest is just spamming holy nova and the tank + one of the toons are using holy water.

In the room where you need to key to progress with the 4 undead packs, I usually pull 2 or 3 packs at the same time and AOE them down.


I can imagine how it might be more difficult with a paladin tank without a taunt. When my dps start to pull aggro I just taunt him back with my bear.
You won't re-aggro him as Paladin, but that's not necessary. Simply double-heal using Pala + main healer (both flash heal) while your DDs rock on.
The mages obviously should use Ice Armor instead of Mage Armor to not being onehit. ;)

My mistake. I thought Drakissath is the LBRS final boss. Didnt realize its UBRS.

I'm another one who has issues with DM W. Those ghost groups wipe me almost every time as I can't CC any of them (rolled a shammy healer). Illayna Ravenoak also destroys me. She stuns me, backs up and then AOEs my group down....every single time. LOS just doesn't seem to work well with her.

DM N and E are on farm for me to a point where I don't need anything from there but they are pretty good for money. I've yet to complete strad UD or Live as I tend to run out of time and patience to finish them. I've also never completed Scholo for the same reason, it's not that it's massively hard but it takes forever to clear the packs. I really need to work on clearing both of them but the loot off the last bosses is just so meh to me I have a hard time focusing for it.
