I've gotten TWO pm's about this in the past 8 hours. If this "someone" who's been spreading these rumors wouldn't mind PMing me privately, I think we need to have a little chat.
Hear it from the official source on what Vyndree does and doesn't do, people... This is a copy-paste (with a little added emphasis) of a PM response I sent that appropriately details how I use my 3v3 team.
Nah, we actually don't win trade -- we just feed off of the other undergeared nublets who queue really late at night.
Win trading can actually get you banned. What I did was buy a 3v3 team from a gladiator friend of mine on the condition that we play as much as we can (10 games a week) and when the rating gets too low we give the team back to him to level back up to 2k. That way, we get the max amount of points per week.
I do 3's only because nobody is typically willing to sell off a 5's team for points. Usually what the gladiator people do is keep their 5's team for competition and points for themselves, and on the side they level up a 2's and 3's team with a known OP setup (i.e. priest/rogue in 2's). Team SELLING isnt' against the rules -- win trading is.
Anyway Suvega and I are on pacific time on a central server, and if you have the patience to queue at night (past midnight at least, server time) then you have a good chance of hitting around point-selling team like yourselves. Half the time they just leave without even playing (i.e. expecting to just lose their 3 games a week and get it over with). Half the time they're in shock so if you run a 3x dps team you can typically roll them based on pure disorganization on their part (half the time they're a pug of people who just paid the glad team for points, so they don't even know how to play with each other). Anyway, that's how Suvega and I got our ratings.
There. Got it? Win trading is bad, mmkay?
You should know better than to PM me asking how to break the rules, just because "someone" told you that I win-trade. I've already posted about my 3v3 team and how I queue up at night to fight the undergeared scrubs. Brains are useful. Use them.

May not be against the rules but you're not earning it yourself and feeding idiot paranoia who use you as an example of high-end arena boxers :p Play your own team and fuckin earn it, don't take the easy way out and skip to yer gear, then you got no goal :p

Until blizzard says otherwise, I have no problems using any and all resources available (within the rules of the game) to reach a competitive gear level.
I am simply trying to define a very clear line between what I do, what is against the rules, and what isn't. Each individual can weigh the moral implications of their decisions -- I, for one, do not judge them whichever method they choose as long as they play within the rules.
I will not teach someone how to win-trade, or anything else that's against the rules. PMing me to ask me to do this, or insinuating that I win-trade when I clearly do not, is simply insulting.
You know what else is insulting, Eteocles? Foul language. If you have a problem with me personally, feel free to PM me about it privately.

I have a sailor mouth, you should know that by now :p I just don't see the point in using other people's stuff to accomplish your goals when you can just create your own team and actually earn it...it's like beating war3 with cheats on, sure you beat it but you didn't do it yourself, but in your defense it's just single player so it doesn't REALLY hurt anything so to speak :p I hate arenas enough as it is without people wintrading and buying/selling ratings so that people who don't deserve or earn them get them; that's the exact reason people call it welfare epics, enjoy your welfare, you "earned" it :p

The real problem with this setup is that the people that are playing this legitimately, and are trying to get their rating up, suffer at the hands of people that are overly geared for a particular bracket and are only there because they are running a team's points back up to 2k+. I don't care how someone gets their points... but when it causes others to have to face 'gladiators' in a bracket where there shouldn't be it isn't right. This gladiator friend of yours is 'farming' other players with less pvp experience and gear so that they can sell you a team you can get easy points with. That means that other players have to have a harder time getting their rating up so that you can have an easier time getting your points. It might not be against the rules technically, but as far as I am concerned it is unethical to take advantage of other players for your benefit.
"when the rating gets too low we give the team back to him to level back up to 2k." If you don't see how that has a negative effect on the people this gladiator runs right over then I don't know what to say.
Additionally, another popular way for farmers to get their teams back up to 2k is to trade wins.
I think it is interesting that a month or so ago Suvega made a post explaining why and how he buys arena points and it met with similiar distain from forum members. That post shortly disappeared, as I imagine this one will.

Eteocles, why don't you just go die in a fire? I'm sick of your "Holier than thou" attitude about everything. Just because YOU feel that something is right/wrong/smart/stupid/whatever does NOT mean that ANY OTHER PERSON HAS TO AGREE WITH YOU. Just because YOU feel a certain way doesn't give it anymore validity than any other person on the planet's opinion, and consequently doesn't give you the right to berate someone because they choose differently than you.
Take some time off and go learn some humility.
On the topic at hand:
The problem with arenas is that normal people in S1/Vindicator's have a hard time getting more than ~500 points a week because of all the point sellers. I did the exact same thing with my 3's teams. Why should I spend twice as long for the same amount of points?

on eu pvp forums a GM even said that its legit to do so!
CBA to check it up and paste link but that was someone whining about a no1 placed team that had won 150-3 with 2,5k rating i think.
and yes suvega said it earlier that you wintrade and tbh i can agree to some extent that its ok BUT id say if its your only arena team that'd be weak imo.
i used to play arena with my GF in 2v2... we went with lock lock combo and hit 1900 rating and stayed there the last month of s2. but things changed in S3 with personal ratings and shit so we didnt face any more mage mage combos or any of the fun setups... we only met druids with warrs rogues or huntards and actually had a hard time to keep 1700.
i got really sick n tired of it and refused to play more of the 2v2 as i also were on the move with boxing so i bought 2 2v2 teams at 2k ish rating and ever since i have only met myself.
i dont know why but somehow since i que at the same time at wierd times i only meet my other team
well i couldnt care less tbh about reports and i also hope that they "fix" it so it wont be possible in S4.
rumour says if someone leaves/join a team it will decrease quite big in rating, and thats a really good thing.
but even tho! i always play my "legit" as in "normal time queing" games with my 5v5 team and i really enjoy that.

"when the rating gets too low we give the team back to him to level back up to 2k." If you don't see how that has a negative effect on the people this gladiator runs right over then I don't know what to say.
Except for the fact that we've NEVER had to have him level the team up. As in not once. That's how successful we were in this bracket, as long as we played late at night against LIKE-MINDED players (i.e. point buyers). IMO I'm ruining nobody's fun.
That was the plan (to get the team releveled IF -- and I emphasize the word IF -- the rating dropped too low), it doesn't mean we had to execute it that way. The success and the rating were a pleasant surprise.
I'm just laying out the facts -- you can choose to buy a team, you can choose not to. You can choose to win trade and get banned, but I don't appreciate people lying about how I gain my points nor asking me how to cheat at the game.
As of this point in time, buying an arena team isn't cheating at the game. If you think it should be, then I should see you posting so in the Suggestions forum. This thread was created to clear an insulting rumor from my name -- not created so that I could be insulted further by certain members of the multiboxing community.
and yes suvega said it earlier that you wintrade and tbh i can agree to some extent that its ok BUT id say if its your only arena team that'd be weak imo.
Oh, and crebble -- if you're talking about a certain thread that got deleted a LONG time ago -- Suvega had considered win trading back before the line was clear as to whether it was against the rules or not. I wasn't even 70 at the time. When I found out it was most definitely against the rules, Suvega nixed that plan and we decided to straight out buy our own teams and play them legitimately.
Besides, since when has "Suvega said.." have anything to do with my arena team??
If you're the one telling people I win trade because of something Suvega CONSIDERED in a age-old deleted thread, that is totally inappropriate.
EDIT: As for a GM saying it is/isn't against the rules as per EU forums...

Just like you can enjoy your "sailor mouth"?
Hey, you earned it. Enjoy the stigma.
If I have a stigma for buying a team, so be it. The only point of this thread was to remove a FALSE rumor about win-trading that was most definitely not part of the stigma that I should have earned.
I.E. Any negative reputation I may earn by team-purchasing is up to me. What I don't have to deal with is people insulting and swearing at me, nor lying about what I do with my purchased team. If the current trend of the multiboxing community is to lie about other players and insult them when they try to clear their name, be assured I will make sure I'm not a part of it any longer.
I don't see the problem with selling teams or points on the team. People look down on it but the mechanics allow it - so have at it. People used to sell spots on MC runs.... *shrug*
Probably best to let this thread die off though.
