Well looks like i'm having deja vu of mists of pandaria (death of wow for me) when follow was removed from BG's. I was having a blast with world pvp since they hadn't removed follow like BFA. Got myself to rank 5 and planned to get to 6-7 this weekend. Killing outside Ironforge was great honor. Even kamakaze at the AH and mailbox was good. Logged in yesterday and people with 600k honor. No follow in BG's. No one dueling outside Ironforge. Too many civilians around IF battlemasters and snagged myself two DK's.

I guess for me this just killed it again. My options are solo queue BG's(whats the point when i pay for 5 accounts) Continue to world pvp and derank due to lack of honor or just be a PVE crusader(not fun).

Anyone else feel the same or find a crafty way to keep up with BG's?

As alliance, I just use movement keys to get to stormpike choke point, takes about 5 mins for the turtle to begin, then i nuke people through the cliff.

but yea, I wish we had follow in BGs so much :(

You're right - BGs kills honor farming in Open PvP.
But I am surprise that you are so disappointed. What did you expect? It was known for a long time that follow would not work in BGs.
And that eyeryone will join BG after the BG release was something to be expected.

So doing Open PvP or PVE just for fun is our only option. Or you can try to control a multibox team with a lot of (inefficient) micromanagent in BGs.

IMO Blizzard has mainly removed follow to stop mutiboxing in BGs not Bots

It killed wow for me too in Mist.. i stopped doing BGs after that and quit for months. After hoping around many different MMOs, i eventually realized WoW is the best game to multibox PvE and have yet to find an MMO thats as cake as WoW when it comes to boxing a full group. You can do it in others of course, but its just more fun in WoW for me. I still never PvP though, but I dont love it as much as some of you.

I do plan to run a twink in classic though, next to boxing BGs in BC and Wrath..twink BGing was the most fun i ever had in PvP

I think I just have my fingers crossed that we will get BC or Wrath. Arenas are by far my favorite aspect about WoW. Won't be too bad at all to get games in on all 5 of your characters each week one at a time.

I'd imagine it will be arena teams specific to your server again if it does happen which will make things interesting finding partners if you aren't on a Tichondrius or Kel'Thuzad type of server. If that is the case, would be cool to find other boxers interested in areas to try get games in with weekly and all xfer the the same server together.

I was always only planning on taking 1 character to BGs so things are fine by me. To me the 5 boxing is just a way to have fun grinding gold for my main and for twinking alts.

If we do get a BC and later WoTLK I hope they keep Classic up (merge Classic servers if/as necessary) & allow folk to transfer characters to the BC server AND leave their characters on the Classic server so we can go back and forth... And later do something similar for BC -> WoTLK... If they keep classic servers up and make BC servers but make your transfers move your characters I will likely keep at least a 5man team at 60 on the Classic servers and would even create new characters if I have to...

and would even create new characters if I have to...

I hope they follow the same model that Everquest does with thier TLP servers. They could annualy open up a brand new Classic server that starts out in Phase 1 again and progress through each phase over time.

It would continue to give Classic replay-ability and let everyone start over fresh again and re-progress through everything. The Everquest TLPs continue to evolve as the Devs learn from past TLPs and make adjustments to future ones that are released. They have tons of feedback regarding what people have liked and not liked about Classic.

Removing /follow in arenas was enough proof that they do not want us participating in any form of pvp and it wasnt just about the bots. We got lucky with classic wpvp, that might even change. I wouldnt be surprised if they removed combat /follow soon there as well. Sadly boxing is just a pve thing now.

That's exactly the mentality that I've adapted to. I'm playing on a PvE server now so I don't have to take into account how my team will fair in PvP. I can just Bloob it up and go afk in front of an instance if I want and then just Queue bgs and raid on whatever character I decide to be my "main".

If they allowed follow in BGs then I would 100% be playing on a PvP server with a group of mages, locks, or shaman. Without being able to honor grind on the whole team at the same time, I feel like I would fall so far behind in gear as the server progresses through phases that it would make it zero fun to box on a PvP server and get one shot by people in Naxx gear or high rank PvP gear vs my instance blues on everything but my "main".

Yeah it sort of did for me too. It'd be another thing if open world PVP was a viable way to grind honor, but even my sapper death runs pale in comparison to what bonus honor people get out of BGs. I understand why they do it, even if it was an option I'd only BG in AV to not draw too much hate.

That's how it is though, right now I'm just chilling doing some farming in the background and getting that dopamine hit when a purple drops like playing Diablo. I've done pretty much everything I wanted to do with these characters PVE wise, might take a break from multiboxing and do some solo stuff, check out the BGs, etc and come back when I get that itch.

The follow function was restored to Arena 14 days after it was removed, and, as far as I know, it still functions, in Arena, to this day. The only thing that recently crippled multiboxers in Arena, was the change to follow breaking in all PvP combat.

That’s because believe it or not a good few of the high end teams were using /follow And /assist rather similar as to what we do, but the /follow was more of you where trying to help your team mate who was pillar humping and you didn’t know exactly where he was the follow would make you run in his general direction, but it never got used for much more than that. There was a pvp add on for a very very short time called “go find me” or something like that just for the purpose, but once you knew the direction they where it didn’t matter if it broke for combat. So, meh blizz gave them back follow and kept the combat break in place.

I don't believe it, if you lack the situational awareness to know where your teammates are, you aren't going to be high rated. You can also just turn on friendly player nameplates so you can see your teammates through pillars.

I quit in Cata before the great follow break of Pandaria.

I came back to Classic knowing PvP was not going to be feasible or fun. World PvP and leveling on a PvP server could be fun if I had the time for it. I don't. My approach has changed and it's unfortunate. I think there's more challenge and fun in PvP, but Classic 5 man content is something that's absolutely accomplishable in multiboxing, which is what I wanted to explore. I suspect in a few weeks after I gear up in 5 mans I'll migrate off Classic again.

It is unfortunate to hear that wPvP is so fruitless compared to just running AV for Honor.
