View Full Version : My rather lackluster set up

There has been some discussion and interest in my guild over what my setup is, so I took some pictures to show it wasn't as impressive as the crazy things they have apparently imagined you need to be able to multibox.

So this is my set up. I decided to just take the picture without cleaning up because I have a strong suspicion that most WoWspace photos are tidied up in order to present a better image. Of course, that could just be me trying to rationalize my horrible mess. The tower on the left is my actual computer, it's a rather brand new machine, quad core, geforce 8800, 4gb ram, etc. And a ton of blue LEDs for reasons I can't possible imagine. You may criticize the position of the second monitor, and how it may be difficult to see, but no worries, it's not actually hooked up to my multiboxing computer. >.> That's really the first thing I need to fix, but I've been a bit lazy in actually running the second video cable over to my main computer and setting it up for dual monitor, and setting up the clone windows to be displayed properly. I still just run from a single WoW folder in windowed mode and simply click back and forth from the task bar.

And here is a picture of my UI. Which you may notice is largely the blizzard default UI. I keep my three shamans always pulled out so I can see their hp, mana, debuffs and targets easily enough. The other two toons I have pulled out are just random DPS I want to keep an eye on to help synch my target with theirs and so it's easy for me to res them, since they tend to die the most.

I just wanted to post this mostly because it always struck me as funny how different my set up looked from most of the other posted shots.

I'd like to nominate this as the screenshot of the month.

Peanut Butter straight from the jar...

jesus.... Mountain dew much?

And ya, my station is never clean.... but 2+ plates and 3-4+ glasses and then I clean it, lol. Looks like you've got a 1 month supply of dew there.

There is a bin to your left, use it. I work in a fairly messy enviroment, until I saw yours. Then again, they say the most creative minds work in a mess. Each to there own. Like the peanut butter idea, would save time putting it on toast and then eating it. Not sure on the socks though. :P

I think you are the first person I have met who likes mountain dew more than me.

36 packs? Makes me feel like a newb with my 12 packs.

That reminds me a bit of the space around my bfs (non-multiboxing) computer - except for him it's diet coke, not mountain dew. How people can work with that little space around their keyboard I have no idea.

Out of curiosity, what's the thing on the left on the mouse shelf?

I suddenly feel pro :)

I think the caption on this should be, "Mountain Dew... sleep is for the week..."

notice the whole place is a mess... EXCEPT...

the perfectly stacked, color coordinated, alternating wows

and "the zone" .... except for the lid on the right, you can see this is THE high traffic spot

i love the sock that's slowly creeping into your open PC.. I think i see it's evil smile, as if it's going in to go wreak some havoc :)

PS.. wth is mountain dew?

Haha, I love your guys' reactions. I don't eat the peanut butter straight from the jar. It's not pictured in this scene, but there's usually a loaf of bread or a pack of Saltine crackers within reach of my desk.

And that spot Keyclone pointed out (loved your commentary) is most certainly the Zone. I pretty much eat all my meals right there between the mouse and the Nostromo Speedpad, but I always keep that clean. Although, granted, usually by simply moving the plate off to the side (as currently pictured) until I need it again and I have to go clean it off.

I don't think my messy desk from several years ago holds a candle to yours:

Btw, how about those Sega Saturn games? 8o

I would love to know too tbh, a lot of my friends wont shut up about it, but we cant get it here

I mean peanut butter cups and orios are still new and exciting in Ireland. ( No joke, there have been mob deaths over those things )

Mountain Dew is like lemonade with about 5Kg of sugar. Think of Sprite or Spree its along those lines.
