Hey guys,
Most of the full aoe combination I have seen combine 4 mages with a priest, I assume because of the aoe heal they provide. I was wondering why we do not see more Hpal instead.
It seems to bring quite a lot of perks, such as aggro reduction and the aoe taunt. Plus being more sturdy than the priest if you use a prot/holy combination.
Have some of you tried this ? How does it fare?
Question if so :
- what spec would you recommend?
- is the lack of taunt a problem in boss fights where you'd be tanking + healing while the mages dps it down
Alternatively, would you see 2 pal + 3 mages work better with the buffs from the 2nd pal + 2x consecrations still doing decent aoe (although far from a mage's AE) ?

The AoE healing from a Priest is not imperative for Mages like it is for Locks since mages don't damage themselves from their AoE like Locks do...
PaladinTank+3Mages+Paladin healer is pretty popular and great for aggro control (Mages can get -30% threat from healing Paladin and Tanking Paladin can spam kings to "shout"). For 3 Locks I would do 1 Paladin and shout on the pets leaving -30% on the Locks and AoE Heal from the Priest.

I start a new team yesterday... 2 Palas and 3 mages... Im playing in a PVE realm and i think i will leveling just grinding hyperspawns. Let me see If it works...

Right now the highest level Hyperspawns we have listed are 39-40 mobs and one of those (the Bonesnappers) was reported as not working (so if you do try that one and it works for you please let us know).
It would be great to have more higher level ones and ones that can take folk to cap.

There are one in Tanaris... The Pirates... I think tou can leveling 44-49 there...

The problem with the pirates that i ran into was its a quest spot and there were always other players there, its not ideal unless you have it to yourself.

Yea.. just found it more of an issue at pirates. my personal experience anyway

Yea.. just found it more of an issue at pirates. my personal experience anywayIt is definitely more of a problem at some Hyperspawns than others.
Ones that are off the beaten path are often best as no one else has a reason to go there and thus you can often get them to yourselves.
The Dockmaster is one of my favorites to get you leveled up to the Defias and Crawlers but you do get fairly frequent quest goers at the Dockmaster. That being said it is usually rogues just wanting to pick-pocket him (or something) and usually they can't handle the adds and appreciated me being there. After awhile I got used to it and would just go ahead and pause when they approached and typed to "please go ahead and let me know when done" and most folk were great about it.
Regardless please post a screenshot of the location for the Pirates on the map (ideally with Coordinates) so we can add it to the list and we can put a note about traffic...
Would also be great to have others listed all the way to cap. I think folk have mentioned 48 Elites for later phases but no one over posted a map with coordinates. If we can get that we will be happy to flesh out the list further.
