I'm really struggling with wpvp due to aoe fearing. Sure I can pick off people from a distance but as soon as an AOE fear gets me it's game over.

I suppose choosing an undead/dwarf would help but besides that has anyone got any tips for dealing with aoe fears?

Besides from items like pvp trinket, engineering reflect trinket etc, what tactics do you use for reorganising your team after the fear. I seem to be panic spamming follow and by that point one toon has died and another is stuck in a ditch

Multiple healers, that can dispel fears and try really hard to keep one of them from getting feared to start with, or pvp with someone else who can dispel. That's really the best way.

Tremor totems :) or if you play undead, forsaken :) - rank 2 gets you pvp trinket as well.

What classes & races are you running?

The Glimmering Mithril Insignia (https://classic.wowhead.com/item=10418/glimmering-mithril-insignia) gives you 30 seconds of proactive fear immunity and could be used by everyone on the team (characters could use them at the same time or your healers could alternate).

This plus pvp trinket and you are fine.

Honestly I’ve found interact with target to be my life saver, because while you may trinket the first fear there is always a second fear coming fairly fast, I’ve found not to trinket the first one, and just interact with an enemy target because once you all run into range of casting (melee if your shamans) you’ve actually spread out and you will be in range of /follow while also being in range of healing your toons... My method, I get aoe feared, wait for it to end, interact with target... stabilize my team and heal everyone up... focus on killing what feared me and then run around and gather my toons after, maybe ressing one or two... remember when your spread out you still have the focus dps abilities while not falling victim to the aoe spam people throw at you.

The Crowd has the answer, make sure to use interact with target. In original vanilla this wasn't an option until Wrath came out so this is a huge leg up from what used to be. Wishing I had this back in the day.

To note on top of this IWT sadly doesn't work for some classes which really limits your options. But if you can have it, use it.

I know this is a old thread but it is still relevant to what i am doing.

I have 5 horde druids, what do you suggest besides IWT, as its all a big panic.

I am running feral + 4 balance, do you suggest a specific setup to offset such ambushes? resto's/balance x5?

I've been feared a few times and it is carnage for classic, being tauren my options are limited. Hot's are my protection currently.

Aside from reacting to being feared, you can also proactively prevent yourself from being feared. Pay attention to priests running towards you as a pretty clear indicator they want to psychic scream you. If you play mages, preemptively silence warriors when they charge and then kill them before they can fear, etc.

In Classic it's generally better to counter things proactively rather than reacting after you've been hit.

You can also build a shadow resist set for team comps that don't have any inherent way of dealing with fear. You can get over 130 shadow resist from dungeon blues which will significantly increase the chances of fear either missing you entirely or breaking early. This works particularly well for druids since you can shift out of most other forms of CC.

Hot's are my protection currently. If you focus on PVP you could take Engineering and BlackSmithing for Glimmering Mithril Insignia for 30 seconds of Fear Immunity. You could pop it proactively or hot button your PVP trinket and then to immediately dispel fear and make yourself immune for 30 seconds.
