Hey guys,

Just thought I'd level fast tonight. My team (WPMML) is respectively 38/38/36/36/36 and thus in the higher level range for the library.

I now easily aoe clear the first aisle / patio / aisle with the easiest mobs (the healers / monks after are more pita afterwards).

I usually do this in 3 eye pulls in a bit below 12mn in total.

I remarked two things:
- I timed my runs to be 12mn long each time, and i reset after the timer has come down to 0 (sometimes, doing a couple of more mobs while waiting for it). But after the 5th instance, I ended up with the "too many instances already" being blocked to enter.

=> Have they changed the 5 instances per hour limit according to your experience?

- I am definitely far from the xp/h levels claimed by some on the forum. More around 15-18k/h, making it around 5h per level (excluding selling full bags and travels back from southshore).

=> Am I doing something wrong?
=> Is the fact that 2 of my chars are higher hindering my xp levels?

Thanks for the inputs!

It's probably the instance. Move to Armory or Cath, but if that is problematic.

Question is, are you trying to hold agro with the tank? The tank is probably slowing you down. I think part of your issue is probably your group composition. The really fast mbox groups, are mostly NOT using a tank. They are 4 mages, or 3 mages and a lock. I could see a hunter group being fast as well.

I imagine your time to kill for any individual engagement is probably pretty slow, because I am assuming, you're trying to actually tank with the warrior. If this is the case, perhaps try not bothering to try tanking with the warrior. Instead, just pick the biggest DPS threat target, put the warrior on that, and try to funnel as much threat as you can onto one of your mages, and just go AOE crazy immediately right off the bat.

I'm also not a huge fan of mixing warlocks and mages. All mages have a pretty incredible synergy with ice armor. They get pretty effective physical melee mitigation due to it, and with talents, you can pretty much assure all the damage will go to one mage, which allows you to do stuff like, buy "of Stamina" boe's for the mage, to boost their HP. With locks using hellfire, you NEED to heal them.

I believe Peregrine leveled a 4 mage/Priest group to cap in just over 5 days played (which is incredibly respectable, considering in vanilla wow, a 5 day /played to cap was competitive with a hunter mob grinding 1-60, which was the most consistently fast way to level in vanilla. As I understand it, he didn't do big mob pulls, he rather did 1 or 2 packs (6-8) mobs at a time, and just kept a high, consistent tempo, as opposed to doing the huge pulls that frost mage groups did with independent players.

Also, at your levels, you should really have moved to Armory or Cathedral at this point.

But please, give us more information. What is your warrior spec? What is your style of AoEing? Are you trying to warrior tank? Are you trying to do big pulls? What spec is your lock?

Thanks for the reply.

I'm pretty much doing pulls by the book from pieces of advice gathered here, meaning pulling with the eye of kilrogg, then the tank launches a few demo shouts to get the initial aggro. Then my macro aoe starts with hellfire on a [nochanelling] loop while the mages go through their own macro including cone of cold, the fire aoe and arcane expl. A few novas to crit with shatter.

Then rince, drink and repeat.

As far as spec are concerned, mages are frost with shatter, the lock is ruin and climbing demology currently.

For pulls, 3 in total to go to the first room with a chest on the top left side. Usually 10-15 mobs per pull.

Pretty much by the book from what I gathered so far
