Which class you think it's better, I can't decide. I like the mages and I like Shammies, only thing that sucks is when one mage dies you have to run back :)

Shamans have all the utility, from purge, to heals, etc.

Personally I would go Shaman with Sapper Charges.

Shaman if horde, mages if alliance. Shamans just have so much utility for a boxer its not even close. If you are not stuck on having all the same you could toss one mage into the mix since both are ranged dps. Granted syncing of similar abilities wouldnt be exactly 1:1 in terms of timing/damage but it wouldnt be impossible. Benefit would be slowed enemies, conjured food/water, and portals for your team.

IE:
Lightning bolt = Frostbolt and/or fireball /castsequence macro
Flame shock/frost shock = fireblast
Poly = hex (round robin)
rooting totem = frost nova (round robin)

AE/AOE is a little tougher but if you drove from the mage then Blizzard + chain lightning wouldnt be too bad to be honest.

Mages do have the lag zerg advantage though. If you are on a server with queues and lots of people you can take advantage of the lag and sprint/blink in and supplement the SapperCharges with your own AoE...

No other class can really do that as well as Mages can (if that is your thing).

My 5x Shaman team just hit 41 today and so far, I haven't met an instance I couldn't clear. And every Alliance I meet, (around my level) are one shotted with 5x Frost Shock. I am currently clearing SM Cath and will move on to ZF when I'm no longer getting XP from SM.

I highly recommend Shaman if you're looking to go with one class for wpvp. So simple to manage and with Ankh, you hardly ever corpse run.

Thanks for the input guys!! I have mages at 33 and shamans are 36 as we know, at level 40+ Shamans get MAIL and chain heals, and more points into Elemental tree, and seems like they start to shine, faster casting/less mana drain, later on faster heals, etc. while leveling mages I've notice they can hit hard, and AOE is crazy! but if you mess it up, you will wipe, and of course mages are pretty squishy! running back sucks as we know because GYs are so far away, sure SM is nice because its closer... and you can stay there until level 40ish.

I'm going to stick with shamans, bump them to 60 and whenever i get bored i'm going to hop on mages and level them up as well, problem solved.

All shamans will have engineering and other professions like Alch,Skin,Mining, herb, Ench. I went with Taurens, for warstomp (roundrobin)

I know what you mean, heals are so nice and you can even pop if dead and keep going. Sticking with shamans.

I'm going to stick with shamans, i went with Tauren do to warstomp, and ones i ding 60 i'm going to level mages as well-through rested XP)

mages are amazing but shamans won't be as squishy and chain ltg is pretty crazy. :)

I think the only downside to Chain Lighting is that you have to have a target to use it while in severe lag situations Mages can just charge into the middle and AoE (AE & SapperCharges) and then when everything catches up they die but got everyone around them.

I agree, I look at mages as Kamikaze team. You go in, do huge burst/aoe damage and pray if you can survive- IF you face a priest, you cant purge a bubble, if you die on 1 mage you gotta run back, so i'm trying to see what IF. Shamans are less squishy, Purge is huge, and keep tremor totems always up.

I love both classes.
