Hi all,
I am new to multi-boxing and have recently started a WMMLP team - currently level 15. I assume both WMMLP and WMMMP would be viable for end game content. I am curious if anyone has any input on how difficult it is to control 2 mage/1 warlock vs 3 mages. I believe it wouldn't be too bad once I have a more advanced setup, but am wondering what others have to say about this. It seems like it would be much easier to map the 3 ranged DPS to the same exact key binds, but perhaps the utility of the warlock outweighs this. Thanks!

I have a 60 team: warrior 2x mage warlock priest
The warlock will always have aggro with hellfire. You will need to run soul link, and then you won’t get the 70% chance to not be interrupted on hellfire until 57. Mage damage synergies really well. If I could go back to the start and wanted a tank and also be most efficient I’d say: pally tank, 3x mage, priest.
4x mage and priest seems to be the best face roll as it’s relatively simple.
I also have not been able to optimize my locks DPS rotation vs a mage is literally just one spell.

With a Paladin that -20% should stack with the -30% and make the threat even more manageable.

So far, on aoe situations, I end up indeed getting aggro on the lock everytime but found it somehow easy to manage as I just have to spam flash heals on him instead of spreading it on all toons...
But I am only 35.
Does it get impossible to sustain heals at max level on the lock due to mobs hitting too hard?

doubt it, your stamina is double juicy and you can pre shield, and then there's SL

Just curious, what toon do you guys steer with?
Do you play the warrior and use repeater regions to heal, or the priest and use interact with target?

I'm sure someone has some better advice, but I farmed most dungeons with ease as DruidMMLP.
Hellfire aggro was a problem at the start, even with -threat...but I worked around that by having hellfire and flame strike on two different hot keys and as soon as the mages hellfire/AoE the lock threat is a thing of the distant past. Lock usually sits there and hellfires all they want while I spam heals on the mages. After the pull I usually LoS most mobs into a corner and pre-shield a mage while they cast hellfire and my tank gathers aggro. Makes it easier if they focus down a mage then switch the bubble will prevent a mid-heal KO.
edit:
I steer from the tank, have /follow and a macro to make them all move so they stop. Park them in the corner as I gather with tank and build threat. Repeater region for healing with any kind of addon you'd like that expands the health and mana bar so they are big and easily clickable. there are some good guides and if you have some frustration make sure to heal yourself from your tank a few times before you start your pulls to make sure its working properly.
Just curious, what toon do you guys steer with?
Usually driving from the tankish char.
Tankish because for me that's a term for whoeever that takes the frontload of damage/is pulling until all mobs are gathered/lined up and my 3 mages take over - most dies anyway within 2 seconds.
Sometimes thats my priest, sometimes my warrior or paladin.
Though Paladin is the best for aoe farming (if not running 4 mages 1 priest) with his freaking +90% aggro buff and Consecrate and salvation on mages they will never get aggro.
If driving from another toon that's not the paladin/warrior I do have an interact with target in the default dps hotkey that's just working when not playing that character.
Do you play the warrior and use repeater regions to heal, or the priest and use interact with target?
I can control my healer from any toon without having to use repeater regions, VFX, clickbars or static macros.
Also the party size (e.g full or small size raids) does not matter, it's just working.
Overall less clutter, full group interaction is kept and most dynamical solution IMO; I did explain it here a bit:

I am curious if anyone has any input on how difficult it is to control 2 mage/1 warlock vs 3 mages.
3 mages are fine in terms of farming 99% of the non-raid content.
The warlock will be superior when running UBRS (you can sell rend-runs for example) or in general when fighting monsters 62+ and the resist rate skyrocket.
Control wise I don't see any real difference.
For single target the warlock should use a castsequence macro; for aoe no issue either; Hellfire macro with [nochanneling], pre-shield him etc - or just take Paladin as tank. :P

I play WMMLS
control perspective:
singel target is for mage and wl 1 button. wl castsequence curse and then shadow bolt spam. mage spam firebolt.
aoe i have 3 buttons, wl always cast hellfire (in some instances I use rain of fire), mages flamestrike, blastwave, arcane explosion
I know I don't use the full damage potential from a WL and a 3rd Mage (even more if you use fire, which is the better instance spec) would lead to much more dps. aoe would also be a lot easier because of the high burst fire aoe damage (flamestrike, blastwave, arcane explosion)
but the WL has so many other big advantages / utilitys
SS - even more useful if you have a priest healer, (shaman have ankh)
healthstones
bloodpact - if you dont play Soul Link
PORT - saves so much time
x) if you run an instance very often and get a lot of loot or have to repair (DME)
x) to reset an instance its also helpful, to port out of instance, log out with others, reset and port back - faster then inviting another 6th charakter
x) if you want to travel anywhere in the world, you travel with 3 charakters and can do other task with the other charakters (I have 5 lev20 wl spread in the world to port me to the many places, but even then I must sometimes travel)
x) during leveling process
Port is the big advantage why I prefer WL.

What's the benift of a worlock summon for multiboxing? I don't mean to be dense, but I'm just not seeing it. Is it just so you can port someone out to vendor/repair and then summon them back?
Their have been many, many times where I wish I had a SS on my priest.

yes vendor and repair is one purpose
x) Vendor / repairing - longer farm sessions, learning a new instance or dieing more often because of lacking in concentration
x) faster reseting, then with another charakter
x) traveling - only 3 charakaters have to travel, I can do other thinks with 2 charakters (AH, profesions, organising bankchars, logging into another charakter which is logged out at a farmspot,...)
x) during leveling process all above applies more often
x) raiding with one or two charakter and then porting them back to your rest of your team
It's a quality of life improvement. Maybe because I have enjoyed it all the time, I don't want to miss it.

It's a quality of life improvement. Maybe because I have enjoyed it all the time, I don't want to miss it.There are many benefits while leveling and at cap... For me the biggest thing at cap is for a main that is a raider and also a part of a dungeon grinding team... After doing one's raids it great to be able to quickly be able to rejoin your team at the dungeon you left off at and continue your gold making. There are other ways to get a similar benefit but it can be really helpful to include at least one Warlock for a single/first team to cap and at cap.
