Has anybody here tried leveling all team mages to 60? Isnthat viable as far as making gold by doing dungeons? I like my priest and ability to heal but at the same time i sometimes feel like if i did even more damage i I woukdnt need to heal lol especially AOE wise. Any takes?

If you're gonna go pure ranged DPS, I think hunters or warlocks would be more viable. Dungeons would be pretty breezy as locks. Send pets, dot everything x5, wait 10s for it to die.

Hmmm good point. Im just looking for the best team to do dungeons for money. I have 4m1p but itd too early to tell. Now im thinking if i should switch to locks. I dont really see anybody here mention full lock teams?

MMMMP is going to be hard to beat for farming dungeons. There are some people who have run some full lock groups and maybe a hunter group or two. They too, would benefit from a healer in them as well.

MMMMP is more versatile than MMMMM.
LLLLP is nice with off-tanks.
I would not do LLLLL as the P gives much value to 4 life-tapping Locks and 4 pets.

Exactly, if he was set on 5 dps casters, L might be better than M, but both groups are better with a healer.

With my first team approaching 60 I'm considering having a second team of horde side casters as well: 5m, 5l, or adding a priest. Actually just saw someone with a 5lock team on Earthfury. Seemed to be doing pretty well. Had epic warlock mounts on all 5!
Still hate the idea of not having a tank, despite what I've seen with people succeeding without one. But I might give this all lock team a shot and just run it alliance so I have summoners for my main squad of pally tank, 3x mage, pally healer. I'm definitely going to have to bother the 5 lock guy in-game when he's not farming and see what his thoughts are, or better yet, if he'd be willing to share them on dual-boxing.

Being that a Priest can give +15% shadow damage and dots if desired and AoE heal 4Pets+4Locs with Life Tap I have a hard time seeing a 5th Warlock being more valuable than a Priest but certainly interested in hearing from someone who has run both compositions.
I think the best thing is to actually have both and at least have a tank option. Generally speaking it is wise to have a Tank in your first team and then either power-level up a 4th DPS or include a 4th DPS option on another team.
Warlocks are great options and even if/when you are using them for farming you could use them for summoning at 20+ and passive crafting at 35+.

The only teams I'd consider going 5x of are Paladins Druids and Shamans, as they all can offheal/resurrect.
All it will take will a bunch of corpse runs when one toon dies to a bad pull for you covet having anything that can resurrect. Also just being able to heal during fights helps prevent the previous scenario from happening in the first place.

My all mage team is at 55, and it works surprisingly well. I do have a 60 Priest for when they hit 60 since I’m sure it will be necessary for high end stuff, but for leveling dungeons i’ve cleared most of them and working on BRD now. Playing without heals/res is a fun challenge too.

Not playing classic but I did do vanilla with mages and a priest for a bit. Stick with the priest in those combos. Being able to just lazily spam Arcane Explosion/Holy Nova in the heat of the moment is lovely.
