I'm a level 45 WPMMM Team and I've had a blast leveling up until now. ZF is killing me. I can move slowly through the instance, killing a pack at a time, but it is as slow as leveling with my shamans or slower. Things like being hexed, dealing with the totems, etc. are preventing me from doing any AoE. I thought "hey, it's alright, I'll just quest it out and go back at 47 or so", and gathered up all the quests, and got out in to Tanaris to find that there's just too much competition out there to be questing with 5 characters. I have been level 45 for 9 hours of /played, because I'm not motivated to play since it's so bad in ZF. Is there an alternative to ZF that would work better with my comp at this point, or do I just need to suck it up and walk through ZF? Does ZF get better with levels - will I be able to pull more than a few at a time eventually? The totems and hexing seem *really* prohibitive.

Uldaman is not bad alt. I had the same issue with the exact same comp as you. At some point it gets easier ..i cant remember when..48 maybe.

I've only tried Uldaman briefly. I was 44 I believe. I think I got stuck at the rock golem guys. Perhaps I should go back there and put in some more effort and try to figure out an efficient route. Thanks for the suggestion!

I had the same problem, with my WWWWS team.. Got better, but once i figured just farm the graves it got better.

So yeah, just do the graves. With a Mage comp i think you might be able to do some nifty trick where you open all the graves, reset the mobs and AOE them all down at once.

Both my 5x shaman and my 4x mage 1 priest team hit a brick wall at ZF. I ended up going to Razorfen Downs for a while, and farmed up some decent gear. Once I was 48, ZF got way easier. I'd suggest getting all your clothies the Deathmage Sash, and Robes of the Lich from Amnennar from RFD, and the warrior has some decent upgrades there as well. Then farm for the blue gear in Uldaman. Gear made a huge difference for me. The final boss in Uldaman can drop a great ring, trouble is it has a random enchantment, so it's not reliable, and the boss is tough even at lower levels. I'd at least try for a few kills to see how fast you can go, and see if it's a reliable farm. XP will be slower, but when you plow through content, it feels faster.

I've been using this filter to see what gear drops for my mages. You can edit it to suit your needs. https://classic.wowhead.com/cloth-armor/min-req-level:35/max-req-level:49/class:8/quality:3?filter=93:18:2:238;2:5:1:4;0:0:0:1#items :0-3+19

For the all-melee classes, it is important to remember that if the mob is facing you, parry/block chances are much higher. This is especially tough on warriors as they don't generate rage when blocked/parried/dodged (or mine generate much less at any rate). I usually switch to my prot spec for the initial aggro so I can turn them away from the 3 Arms guys, which makes things much easier. Once they're all green, it's less of an issue though it seems to me that time-to-clear is definitely better with good positioning.

The warrior is in superb gear. Has a couple epics, full enchants, etc. I also farmed full robes and sash from RFD. I think the problem was just my level. I pushed through and I'm 50 now. It's much easier. I think once I'm finished in ZF I'm going to go straight to BRD. I went in there on my 5x shaman crew this morning to scope it out and it seems like it will work very well with my comp. Thank you for the mage gear filter!
