My husband is out buying 2 more battlechests as we speak to upgrade my 3box to a 5box. Damn you guys! I can't wait.

Unfortunately, I have a baby shower to go to tonight, BUT tonight, yes, later tonight, I will be playing my new 5 box team. w00t!

The triplets (3x locks) will probably be "benched" until I can figure out a use for them, but I am pondering a 5 box setup now, I can't decide between:

(1) Paladin, Priest, Mage x 3
(2) Paladin, Shaman x 4
(3) Shaman x 5

I am PVE only. I have never been a big fan of PVP. Vyndree says I should try the first combo, since it's more PVE friendly, as I won't be able to do heroics with the shaman groups unless I have the PVP gear. However, 5 Shaman just look bad ass, and doesn't take as many different keybindings to setup. I just can't decide!

Decisions, Decisions....

Look.... If you know me at all, you know where I'm going with this... :)

First off, GRATS!

Second, Boom is notorious for his love of Female Gnome Warlocks on the Argent Dawn forums, so the Bipity, Bopity & Boó thing goes a long way for me. HOWEVER....

as long as you're re-rolling...

Xaedra For Horde!

You have no idea how much I want to. I actually have a level 70 Blood Elf Priest Horde side on AD :(

Unfortunately, my husband has two level 65 (Lock and Hunter) characters on Alliance side, and he wanted to play them again, so here I am... playing Alliance.

I prefer horde on AD honestly, and I miss them. They were always 100x nicer than the Alliance.

Maybe thats why I want to 5box. I'd much rather play with myself (get your minds out of the gutters, guys) than PUG with 99% of the Alliance.

I recently ditched my 1pally 4shaman team the other day and made 1pally 2lock 2priest. I don't have a mage in my new setup because I wanted an additional offtank for my paladin (void), while the other lock uses an imp for blood pact. I wanted two priests because I can either have two shadow priests with their stacking buffs which does wonders for my paladin, or one shadow priest and one healing priest.

So I didn't want to sacrifice a priest or lock just to add one mage. The only service the mage would provide is portals, sheep, and AI buff. Big whoop! Plus I get two soulstones, and 3 rezzers.

But they are only level 10 now, so this is all theorycraft and cannot be proven until about level 50ish.

The thing I did not like about my shamans were the totems....I just always hated dealing with totems, plus they were too cliche...lol.

So I vote for option 1!

5 druids is also pretty cool too. I have 5 druids on a PVE server for days I don't want to deal with Pvp, or in case Magtheridon goes down.

/sighYou're not kidding...

I logged into Argent dawn at 2am the day WoW came out, right as AD came online. I've never left. My first two 60s were Alliance. I was an officer in a few guilds, and a GL at one point. I finally got fed up with the players on Alliance side, and decided to start over on Horde. This was due mainly from my interaction with the Horde PvPers (back during the HWL grind) in ventrilo. They were all adults! I was shocked.

That's when I created Boom, and eventually For Horde. I'll never go back to alliance. I love the AD Horde family. Amazing people.

I think it's time your husband re-rolled. :)

Good luck with your new team!

I assume when you are playing this setup your goal lies in PvE and so in Heroics some day? If so I would assume that you will get destroyed easily by all mobs there witout any CC and the void walker isn't quite a good replacement for that but tbh I never played much heroics before so I could be wrong here, the Idea itself is pretty good. I would rather play something like this:
1 tankadin / 1 healer (priest would be good I assume) / 1 warlock to be the shadow whore (main DD) / 1 shadow priest for even more shadow damage and mana regen and finally 1 mage for CC only, water and all that stuff is just a nice give-away.

Not sure though if that would work in any way. :)

Vyndree says I should try the first combo, since it's more PVE friendly, as I won't be able to do heroics with the shaman groups unless I have the PVP gear. I cant agree here, yes, the extra stam from pvp gear does help, but with pve gear comes greater DPS (in the long run). My guys have only got 3 bits of gladiator gear each, the rest is crafted/drops/rep stuff, and I'm getting stuck into heroics no problem. I say go for it if this is what you'd like to do. Make them all LW, go for the Netherstrike set (and the blue crafted gear from Kurenai rep) and you are good to go on heroics. I spent money getting my palla tank geared up, but pvp gear doesn't help much for him either (except perhaps a Main hand weapon). If you learn to tank ok, you can avoid getting dmg on the shammies, so HP isn't so important. For bosses that AOE or whatever, there's always chain heal and healing streams.

Are they all Shaman or is one a Pally? :)

Nice choice. I am also re-rolling 4 Shaman to create a Pally / 4 Shaman team. Pally for instancing, and just use the 4 Shaman in PvP. As much as they are the flavour of the year, cant really argue with their synergy or playstyle as being top dog for multiboxing.

I gotta say.... did you have Boom make your signature? Cause that is a gorgeous sig.

I made the sig :)

And it's x5 Shammies. Im still playing around, I may re-roll with x4 Shaman, 1 Paly.

When I upgraded from 3 accounts to 5, I went with 2x Paladin and 3x Mages. Can't wait to have both BoKs and BoW on my mages, also I like the Blessing of light on the main tank for the extra heals. Never played a mage before and enjoying all 3 of them. So far my tank hasn't done much tanking, and my healer hasnt even swong her weapon yet. Multipal mages rock! :)

Grats on the 5 box. I agree with Boom. Also, you would be able to do Kara with him. :)

you dont really need a tank for heroics either wheter you have pve / pvp gear!

ofc gear always makes it easier and id suggest you got some of the pvp gear since they are really good even pve wise.

doing heroics shouldnt be any probs and i think you can farm as much badges / day as you have time to play.
im currently runnin 10 dailys/day and doing full clears of heroic SV ramparts and partial clears of manatombs SP and sethekk.

now GL with your crew

Um, Vyndree was right. Everyone of you that decided you knew better-(what the flip does gear have to do with it?) you just gave out some pretty piss poor advice.
I would sooooo recomend a more diverse group for PvE - paly 3xmage and priest is awesome for that. 5 shamans is NOT. They are a PVP group- that might be able to scrape through some heroics with big headaches. If you at least add a Paladin- they become 10x more viable for PvE.

ofc Do what ever you want- and enjoy it. :) Just don't want you to waste your time. And grats on 5 boxing!

you just gave out some pretty piss poor advice.

so 1st boss in MT 1st in sethekk WHOLE steamvaults 2 first in SP and WHOLE ramp with 2 chars dieing sucks?
there will ALWAYS be some people that just cant understand that its possible and still think its hard.
id farm talon king and the druid boss aswell if the trash in sethekk werent so annoying in the end (YES they really give headaches) and tbh i get 10 badges/day and are satisfied with it.
was a bit annoying in the beginning to learn HOW TO but im dieing less and less/doing them faster. now i have to wait for ele CDs to blow of before i kill some bosses.
but saying its crappy advises would be just wrong. it all comes to what playstyle people have and tbh i wouldnt wanna wait with dps because i need to get aggro with my drood nbefore i kill stuff. i find it much easier to kill them before they come close.

I think what it comes down to, is what do I enjoy playing? Yes, I know 5 Shaman will have it's problems, but so far I am really enjoying it... mainly because it's 1 class, and it's easy for my first 5 box. I already have a Paly/Priest/Magex3 group created for when I get more comfortable with controlling 5. But as I said, the most important thing is that I enjoy it. Am I going to enjoy a group that people keep trying to push on me? I might, but I might not. I'd much rather experiment and find the group I like best.

I know the road with 5 shaman will be hard, but if I end up liking that the most, why not?

You hit it on the nail Xaedra, if 5 shammies is what you like, go for it. There is video's of a boxer round here that does heroics with 5 shamans. Just nuke everything before it reaches you is the tactic I believe. :P As long as you are having fun, thats all that matters. :) I hope you enjoy your shammies!

"As long as you are having fun, thats all that matters. :) I hope you enjoy your shammies!"

and i can guarantee you that you wont hit a brick wall at 70.
a tip is that you skill enchanting on one char and farm 1st boss in sethekk from 68 to 70 this will get you exalted and give you a nice mainhand to go with =)

Aye, the point is doing what you enjoy, as I prev stated. You want to play 5 shammies- go for it- enjoy! Just be ready for the VERY challenging endgame if you intend to instance.
If you enjoy and thrive off that challenge- great. it can be done- it has been done. Not arguing that. Just saying its probably not even close to the optimal mix for this sort of thing.

And yeah, i'm still not impressed with the advice given. Nothing personal there. But you confirmed my exact concern about the expressed interest in heroics yet still give the advice to go that way? *sigh*

SInce you have your husband and his/your friends to group with anyhow, there's not much to gain from bringing 5 shammies in a heroic anyhow (unless it's just a badge run). Take 3x shammies and 2 buddies into a heroic at a time and you still get all the shammie drops.

edit-I didn't feal like rolling a tank so i'll just be finding a few good tanks on the server at 70 and swapping out a mage for one of them to run whatever.
