Pally, Priest, and 3x Mages here. Dungeons, elites and quest mobs are an absolute breeze, however in WPVP I get owned. If I have all my buffs up and I see it coming, I don't have too many problems, but when I get ganked out of nowhere, the mages die before they can get casts off, the Priest is useless because he's a healer with no one to heal, and the Paladin, my main is stuck at about half health with no mana and becomes a sitting duck.

Being in the open world has become extremely frustrating. Every Horde I see runs away if they're not a much higher level than me, and the ones that attack me feel they can corpse camp me. It's pretty much daily now that I spend at least an hour ping ponging and running back and forth to get my toons together and rezzed after a camp session.

I know I need to get better, I'm going to redo my keybinds over the next couple of days, because I ran out of keys. I need to level engineering and bind those items, make separate keybind for all my CC, instead of lumping them all on the same button, and remap my mouse buttons to the numpad keys.

I'm really looking for tips on how you guys handle getting attacked by 2-3 higher level characters. Should I forget about casting, and just use instant spells? When you get AoE feared how do you recalibrate your group?

Well for wpvp make sure that your priest has spirit of redemption talent, use your pally for dispelling and boping other characters and make an iceblock + cancel aura macro for your mages. If you get ganked by melee spam arcane explosion, cast prayer of healing with priest so you dont waste time targeting and bubble players with pala. If your priest dies you have 3 free casts of prayer.

If attacked by ranged you better be pom spec so you can 1shot ranged characters, but if not get good at pollying multiple targets and kill them 1 by one.

If attacked by mixed team of players use your judgement, but generally you can keep melee in frost nova while you kill ranged characters.

And yea you will need a lot more keybinds for pvp with such a team

My 1x sham 4x warr team is now 56, the team is alot like my team in cata x4 dks, I now pretty much one shot 60 clothies.
It's just so explosive with windfury, with gear this team could be very fun in open world pvp, though im not sure if wpvp will just become a ranged thing when honor/ranks comes out.

stick to instant casts. Arcane explosion and holy nova are great for those melee that dance around you.
dont let any priest near you, the only reason they move toward you is to fear.
What spec are your mages? Arcane pom cant be camped very easily, and frost has ice block to save you from almost anything.
oof you went human priest didnt you. If you get fear bombed you just have to deal with it and spam follow your main. It's a glaring weakness for non-dwarf non-shaman teams. Ice block, HoJ, and bubble can alleviate some of that, but watch for priests and explode them before the move close enough to you. Priests should be a high priority target.
Use sheep, it's really op at this phase.
Use pots.

Dont sweat it, in classic getting the opener is almost always a guaranteed win for skilled players. Some fights are just out of your control.

I'm level 48, and I have a Dwarf Priest. My problem is when I rez my team, I get killed before I get a chance to get fear ward on anyone. I'm taking more about higher level ganking, than regular PVP. It seems like besides a Mage, who can AoE me down regardless, I can kill any single player at about 5-7 levels higher than me. It's when theres a team, or when I chase people into the guards is when I have a problem. My mages are all different mixed specs, none have PoM, none have ice block. I made my team for pretty much how I play in dungeons. That's why I said I'm gonna have to recalibrate everything, new keybinds, new talents, new professions.

I was really salty when I made that post. I shut the game off because I was getting camped by 2 higher level players, and Polymorph either didn't work or only lasted a few seconds on them. They jumped my team when I was fighting elites and didn't let me rez to regroup, killed me within seconds every time. It lasted well over an hour, and I felt so helpless, so I came here to see what kind of help or tips you guys had for me.

Roll an alt team/switch to it: while they wait for you, you're having fun doing something else (or take a bio break, watch netflix etc...)

ps: or call guildies for help

You can use 31/0/20 spec on your mages so you have Iceblock and use PoM for instant polymorphs, that way you will be strong in pvp and pve

Why do you have different specs on your mages anyway?

What do you guys think about a 5 rogue team for world pvp?

You would get stomped by pretty much everyone due to having no cleave dmg, no healing, no movement.

I have 3 different specs for my Mages for PVE purposes. They're kind of custom built for how I play. It makes dungeons super easy and fun, but for PVP...not so much. 1 Mage is arc/fire, which does the most damage and generates the most threat, so I can easily heal, salvation or BoP him, because if anyone picks up aggro, it's him. The other 2 mages are arc/frost. One mage is more arcane, the other is more frost, with the frost mage built as my solo skinner/herber, so it has all the kiting talents. All 3 Mages have the stun talent, which is so overpowered in dungeons.

Like I said it's great for PVE, but for higher level PVP opponents they're all sitting ducks. I'm going to have to retalent, and rekeybind my whole team, because now that I'm having to go into the higher level zones, the ganking is out of hand.

maybe consider leveling some locks to 20 and park them at your favorite dungeon entrances so you can just avoid it all together.

One thing that can help your more than anything else is keep recording software running while out in the wild. Later you can review that footage and reflect on what the problem was and how to do better.

Because your balancing multiple classes, it takes much of your attention away from situational awareness. Being mobile is a huge plus. Situational but normally instant arcane explosions should do the trick for any melee on you. It's a lot to take in, while you may be fighting 2-3 people that jumped you, you weren't ready, your playing 5 guys and multiple classes at once. Your doing just fine, just takes time.

Instant cast is normally the way to go. As for fear when I did PVP I picked Horde undead for that reason. Otherwise have to grind battle grounds for the trinket. Till then if you have a dwarf in your group for fear ward, also you can dispel it with priest if it isn't feared already. Or horde again for tremor totem.
