I run a dual boxing team (although back in the day I did go as far as to have a full 5 box team in WoTLK). Most of the posts here are for 5 member teams. I'm curious about any other dual boxing teams and your experiences. I'm running 38 Druid tank (feral tank spec) and (mostly, he has 5 points in wanding) 34 Holy Priest on a horde pvp server. It's a lot of fun and I'm very much addicted to the game like I was back in the day. I'm pretty sure I'm not fully using the tools available to me yet but periodically I'll either come on here or go research something I've been procrastinating and make the team a bit more efficient. For example, I recently modified my healers heal macro to:

/stand
/follow ageru (that's his name instead of my tank who is kandeageru)
/cast Heal

Before that I was having to tap X to move back to make him stop autofollowing and this one less keys stroke makes the boxing experience a bit more enjoyable. If you notice the stand up there.. I am pretty mana efficient with my healer and have a good amount of spirit gear.. I rarely drink between pulls whether in a group or solo. But I had a group where the healing got pretty intense and had to drink and then as he was drinking I went to pull... and then heal... and no heals were coming in. I don't have multiple monitors so I didn't immediately see that there was an error message because he was sitting down. Having that on the macro should eliminate it from ever happening again though.

I'm doing a dual box team for a couple reasons.. the first being (not surprisingly) that spending too much money per month on this game starts to feel like a waste and I question if it's worth it. Boxing is a lot of fun however so right now the answer is yes but just two accounts seems ok. And I like the social aspect of MMO's and just two boxing makes me more independent but I still need help from other players to do stuff so I'm still forced to group up and socialize. And a tank/healer team gets groups pretty quickly... usually.

Doing quests and stuff with my healer/tank team is great in that I mostly just charge into mobs without too much concern about consequences. But their dps is a little low and that can get annoying making me wonder if I should mix up the specs like make the priest shadow... So far I haven't since I wouldn't want to oom between pulls and when I do group.. if I am tank/healing.. if anything doesn't go right I feel kind of feel guilty even if maybe I shouldn't. Being properly healing specced keeps the chances of wiping etc. a little bit lower.

I mostly PvP when it's forced on me since I'm still leveling and well I don't have experience.. and being a boxer you really need to have your stuff down to control multiple toons quickly and I guess I expect to lose a lot before I start winning. That said, when it's been forced on me, the bear seems to do better than expected in PvP situations just 'tanking' whoever is attacking me. He's got a ton of health and I think it's depressing for someone to get a hit on him and watch the health bar barely move.

I have to say that in many a pvp situation I've wished I had ranged toons.. it seems like it would be so much easier. I like this team but I'll probably want to make another 2 box team too... specifically for world PvP. I was thinking two warlocks. Range dps... cc... no dead zone.. all good just no heals. Anyway.

If you are looking at 2 of the same class, there is nothing that beats 2 mages. Not only will you level very fast and have access to huge aoe pulls a single mage cannot manage, they will be very safe to do because you have a 2nd frost nova when a mob from the pack resists the first one.

When it comes to pvp you can easily control fights with polymorph and frost nova in 2vX scenarios and you can kill people in seconds when you spec into shatter.

Your can also effectively blink and turn around using click to move function when broadcasting mouse clicks to both screens so you do not lose any mobility and can even dual box them in battlegrounds because of that. After you blink you click behind your characters and they will instantly turn around and if you play undead mages you can use Wotf before a fear lands and prevent your characters running all over the place, and even if that happens a quick iceblock and /cancelaura macro will remedy that.

If you want to play a warlock I would go with warlock + shadow weaving/full shadow priest (which is a top tier pve duo as well) . Warlocks have a problem with survivabilty in pvp and they (alongside with warriors) benefit the most from having a healer, so I would not play 2xwarlock. Priests provide a good combination of damage and healing and can compliment any warlock spec, and this combo is very easy to play efficiently compared to other dual class combos.

I also like 2 undead/dwarf shadow priests, they are super easy to play and really strong in pvp since they have good burst and survivability, having Mind Flay that repositions your characters as a part of standard dps rotation makes things so much easier. Not as strong as 2 mages, but far easier to play, and are super strong as a dualboxing healer combo in battlegrounds.

They are better then 2 shamans who become top tier combo when you can stack 4-5 of them and abuse grounding/tremor totem mechanics and 1 shot people with Chain Lightning + Earth Shock on cooldown
