View Full Version : Easy buff solution for team (2x Pally, 3x Mage)?

Hey everyone, new multiboxer here. I have my team into the early 20's and am having a really hard time with managing my buffs. I have the Buffwatch add-on, but with Pally Blessings being 5 minutes and needing to keep up Arcane Intellect, Mage Armor, etc., it's getting to be very annoying manually recasting buffs and all that.

I'm sure some of that is just normal challenges of multiboxing, but there's likely a lot better solution that I'm missing either in ISBoxer or with macros. Right now I have the Buffs just bound to straight key broadcasts so I hit F3 and all my mages will cast Arcane Intellect, F4 for Frost Armor, F5 Casts Tank Pally Buffs, etc. Problem comes when I cast Intellect onto the Paladins and all 3 cast the buff (since it's bound to the same keybinding on all 3 mages)(I don't have anything specific setup in ISB, I just have F3-F4 bound on all 3 Mages and unbound on the Paladins.

In short I recognize my simple system isn't ideal so I'm just looking for some solutions on how good boxers are buffing their teams effectively. Would be nice to just hit a couple buttons in a cast sequence macro or something or have something really cool setup in ISB where I can just go down the list and recast buffs in 20 seconds instead of taking longer and getting annoyed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. My research skills are failing me at this point so I thought I'd reach out to the community!

There is an Addon called "SmartBuff" easy to setup. You simply scroll your mousewheel up or down and the addon buffs everything.

Sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. Will have to give it a try tomorrow when I load the team up. Thanks for the info!

You can setup a macro to click the smart buff button (what I do) so you can buff from the group leader with a single key press. Put it into non-combat key set and give it an easy key to press and make it fire on all slots all the time.

Here is the macro: /click SmartBuff_KeyButton

Excellent! That's just what I needed so I don't have to switch from my group leader. Between the add-on and the macro working from the driver's seat my life is a lot easier. Thanks for sharing the knowledge!

I use VuhDo to track my buffs from both Paladins and reapply them. I watch the party bars anyway for health/mana so I figured why not put the buffs on the bars also (I just press alt key and either right click or left click to apply the buffs I want per character as I go down the row). Some buffs you need to put in the URL for the proper rank from WoWhead but once that is done it has worked fine for me.

Yeah I definitely need to think ahead to when I'm using different blessing combinations! I only have a few buttons on my Corsair mouse and am using a bunch of combos for my healing as it is. But I might look into setting up something with a Clickbar so I can put buffs on the mouse. In the heat of battle I sometimes forget my combo's, so replacing say BoP or LoH with a clickbar and moving all my buffs to the scrolls or modifier clicks might workout.

I'll have to check into Vuhdo as well Nodoze. I have it installed but was a little overwhelmed with options when I first enabled it. Right now I'm just using Shadowed Unit Frames and the standard Blizzard Raid Frames for my party. But I'm pretty sure VuhDo and others will let me arrange my party alphabetically so the order stays the same.

I also have targeting issues because my repeater region is in the way and I'm not patient enough yet to setup a nice vFX setup lol. Basically I have to click Buffwatch right now to even target someone on my party frames or I have to hold down ctrl + alt because I have so many heals bound that clicking a party member will just try to do one of the heals instead of left click working to target someone. I did build a toggle in to disable the repeater region, but with Holy Light bound to left click it's still just going to heal without my targeting keybind (ctrl + alt + left click!)
