Hello,
Currently leveling 1 warrior 1 priest and 3 mages.
Regarding shatter: if a target is nova'd (either from frostbite or frost nova) and my three mages cast frost bolt simultaneously, do all three frost bolts receive the +50% crit likelihood from shatter? My understanding is that at least for non-pet novas, the crit likelihood is determined at the time the frost bolt cast is complete. Accordingly, each frost bolt should receive the crit bonus so long as the target is frozen even if the nova breaks on the damage from the first frost bolt to land on the target.
Anyone have experience or evidence to confirm? Thanks. Otherwise, if there is interest in this question I'll report back after my mages can shatter.

Interested in the answer. What level is your team? Did you consider swapping 1 Warlock for a Mage?

For a bit I contemplated a warlock but I want to have a 5 mage team eventually and it would be easier if I got 3 mages in the first grind to 60.

In theory, if all 3 frostbolts are cast at exactly the same time then they should be in the same batch and receive the shatter bonus if the target was frozen when that batch ended.
I think it also depends on latency. If you have 250-300ms there's a chance the difference might cause your characters actions to be batched separately. The faster your connection is, the less room for variation. If all of your actions are received within 15ms of each other it's more likely they'll be batched together.

i think its supposed to crit for everyone yes, if you launch multiple frostbolts and hit the target with fireblasts while fbs are on their way, the fireblasts should already shatter (not sure if all instant casts will get the bonus crit though) and break the nova, but the incomming frostbolt who got launched before the nova broke should still shatter. Quite certain about that because I remember in tbc when mages had enough haste they could launch 2 frostbolts before the first one hit, so a mage with ~600 haste could triple shatter with 2 fb and 1 lance...but that was tbc however. So casts with travel time should all shatter but Im not sure about the instant spells.
