Hunters not running to target when pressing IWT

It works with every other team I have, but hunters just won't run to the target and melee it when I press IWT. Instead they get in range and start attacking with the bow. Is there a way to make them run to the target and start meleeing instead of ranged?
For example when I press IWT on my mages they run to target and melee with their staves, but this is not happening with hunters.

Maybe because default hunter auto attack is ranged? Just a guess...
my next question is why the hell do you want them in that close anyway, they hit like a wet fish in melee

As a hunter you will sometimes find yourself 1 inch away from melee range and not be able to use the bow because of that, but still also not being able to melee because you are a couple feets too far, IWT would solve that problem but I don't know why it is not working on them.

Maybe instead have a series of steps that have the hunter backup first and then start shooting. You could maybe just have 1 button for something like ~5 feet, one for ~10 feet, and another for ~20 feet, etc. If mixed group then many an action target group for the hunters to follow a lead hunter and you give the lead movement commands via the arrow keys separate from the main tank and the hunters focus on the lead hunter (instead of maybe the lead tank if your group has one).

I tested x3 Hunters on follow.. if you want them to melee you have to bring them very close to the mob then IWT before melee works with them.. I swapped them for mages because the pet happiness was a pain and the ammo.

Yeah, I know that IWT works, but only if they are already on melee range. That's not the case for other classes because if they are not in range they run into it when IWT is pressed.

Thanks, this explain why this is happening. Guess there is no workaround other than make them follow you into the enemy.

Try using interact with rank 1 wing clip. I haven't tried it but it might work.
