Considering the likelyhood of long queues, especially with 5+ characters, it would be great to be able to stay in once you get in, even if you have to eat dinner or take an extended bio break...

Are there any legit ways that don't violate the ToS that can help you stay logged in once you are in if you have to go AFK for a bit?

For example, if you are in an instance or an inn can you auto-run into a corner to stay logged in if you have to go AFK?

Virtual Desktop.....that's how I logged into Archeage from work, drove home, worked out, ate dinner, then would get into the server.

I found this on a search:

https://www.vrdesktop.net/

I do have Splashtop for remote access but that is blocked from my work PC. I hadn't though about how to use that when working out.

Virtual Desktop as in a system that lets you use a browser/app to log into your computer from another computer/tablet/smartphone. I believe Windows 10 calls there support system Virtual Desktop, but basically you need a remote desktop application that allows you to use your computer through the cloud.

I am not the person to ask specifics though. I figured it out so that I could log into Archeage, because the queues were 3-5 hours at times for the first couple of weeks. I rigged it so I could log on through my phone and get in the queue, and I remember driving home and moving my character so it didn't log me out:) Goodluck!

I think on Windows it is Remote Desktop or a descendant of RDP. For Archeage I used Splashtop.com for remote access though if I wanted to stay logged in in Archeage I put my alt in the courthouse chairs :-)

I will look into splashtop from my phone or at least a tablet... I had not thought of that... Thanks!

Parsec Software for remote playing. Thank me later :)

Teamviewer works from mobile devices, but is bad about mouse/keypress forwarding.

You can try playing a sound to notify you when the character is logging out

Or maybe this macro that cancels the automatic logout

/run local f=CreateFrame("Frame")f:RegisterEvent("PLAYER_CAMPING")f:SetScript("OnEvent", function() local p=StaticPopup_Visible("CAMP")_G[p.."Button1"]:Click()end)

I personally didn't tested these methods, but could you give ideas to do it legally

Are you trying to keep from getting logged out because you know there will be huge login queues?

Are you trying to keep from getting logged out because you know there will be huge login queues?Essentially yes. Once I get in if I need to go eat something or take a long bio break I want to be able to remain connected and not have to start over at the end of the queue. If it will help I would be happy to do that in an instance rather than the open world.

I think the remote options may work for me as I can likely have my phone with me to where I can make my group either all attempt to interact with something or jump periodically.

I'll just throw out that this kind of thing has gotten people banned in the past. I can't remember the circumstances but you must admit it goes against the spirit of the game. I'll give you an example of a problem with this: let's say people are experiencing really long queue times because the servers are overpopulated. Someone makes an addon or app or something that helps people do what you are trying to do. Where does that help Blizzard maintain a healthy login server infrastructure? Where is the feedback to them that queue times are abysmal? "Well, other people will complain about that. At least I got mine yo." You beginning to see where I'm going, here?

Don't be disingenuous. It's not like you're the first person to come up with the idea.

My use case was clear in all of my above posts/responses.
