Hey Everyone,

I want to talk some Classic addons. EMA is a no brainer but what other great quality of life addons are out there that can really help multiboxers.

I did a video on it here but this is a topic where there is a lot out there and I am looking to know if people have any real hidden gems.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMWCwgrbPh (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMWCwgrbPh8)

Cheers

Dalo

I was actually thinking of starting a thread like this and keeping the initial 1st post at the top of the thread updated with the consensus of addons recommended for boxers in the thread. I was planning on keeping a list & putting them in groups/categories like "Must have", "Frequently recommended", "Infrequently recommended", etc. It would be great if this thread could result in something like that.

I assume Curse is the best way to manage addons but if that isn't the case and/or there are other good options maybe list that at the top as well.

1) Is there any different setup to point ISBoxer to be able to log in characters to Classic?
2) Where do we get Classic Addons? I use the twitch installer for retail, is there somewhere else to get them for Classic?
2) Do we have to do anything special when setting up addons for Classic? Ie, do we need to install them in a different place?
3) Will all my retail addons show up in the Classic in game addon list? Do I need to switch these back and forth constantly to make sure I have the correct addons installed?

1. The mirai video has a good explanation on this one. In general no, just tell it the game you are playing is world of warcraft and to use Classic when adding the character to team.
2. Classic addons I found at the curseforge website and in the search one of the drop down options for version is WoW Classic.
2. They get installed in _classic_ instead of _retail_ so the installation is separate.
3. Addons in _retail_ won't show up in classic.

I manually installed everything but I imagine within a few days the addon managers will catch up if they haven't already to be able to manage 2 profiles of wow.

Great video. I think there really is a niche for a youtube content provider specific to multiboxing. I think it will become very big in WoW when players realize that they will clear all content very quickly and guilds will start split raiding. Plus the hardware demands are so light that multiboxing doesn't take much.

Here's my list of addons:
Atlas Classic: For loot, etc
Classic Aura Duration: So I know when to reapply rend, dots, debuffs, etc
Classic Cast Bars: So I can set my round robbin interrupt and catch NPC casts
Classic Codex: Best Questing Addon
DBM: Boss stuff
EZJunk: sells junk auto
Leatrix Plus: Speeds up looting and accepting/handing in quests
OneBag3: Giant Bag
Vendorprice: gives vendor prices
OmniCC: Cooldown counter
QuestlogEx: Extended Quest log, because the Classic one is awful
Classic spell activation: Lights up reactive spells like overpower
Corduroy: Coordinates for mouse on map and character
speedrunsplits: Gives level times
Clique: For healing through VFX and buffing

The thing I really like about Vuhdo is that you can setup Bouquets and assign them to some indicator.

Then you can write a list of CC that you can dispel and put them as one color. So if you see someone has that color then you must dispel them right away.

For melee teams it would be great to put effects like Entanging Roots and Frost Nova to be 2nd highest priority so you can counter enemies kiting your melee.
For casters it can be great to put Silence effects to show well so you can quickly dispel them.

Then put dangerous debuffs that is good to dispel as another color with lower priority, so you know that it is good if you dispel those.

Then you can also put effects that disable the character to show in some way that allows you to instantly see "ok, my healer is stunned/incapacited so it won't be able to heal now".

I think it gives really good information that helps making fast decisions.

Vendorprice: gives vendor prices

Get "Better Vendor Price" it's.... better :-) {better as in it gives you stacking and full stack vs current stack vs unit price information}

I commented on youtube will repeat here, don't get your addons from manually maintained site, their info is stale, get them from twitch app/curseforge or
https://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/cat160.html

Obviously you probably want to add EMA-Classic and DynamicBoxer to the list

here are my addons so far for classic:
AdvancedInterfaceOptions
AuctionDB
aux-addon
BetterVendorPrice
BugSack
DynamicBoxer
EMA-Classic
ISBoxer
PixelPerfectAlign
WhoTracker
WowLua (for development)

On the top right side in twitch - you can change from retail to classichttps://www.dual-boxing.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2201&stc=1

What is the best addon to help with quests and navigating the world?

The only one I have experience with is Questie. It worked well during stress test. https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/questie/files

The release version just came out 4 hours ago apparently.

Yeah, the problem is that even though you curate your list on curse for just classic and you click on an addon for 1.13.2.....It will still download a retail addon.

Hey Moorea, is Aux addon updated for Classic ? Have you tested this on the stress test/beta? Thanks!

Yeah, I didn't see a use for Better Vendor Price, but then I realized that knowing how much a full stack vendors is incredibly useful at maximizing gold per bag slot. Will do.

As to curse/twitch...that is definitely the optimal way to go, but they seem to be clunky in searching for only WOW Classic addons. I have restricted my search to 1.13 and the first mod is DBM. Your directions are clear, and when I do all that I get tons of 8.2 mods when I actually click on the hyperlink.

Then

https://www.dual-boxing.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2203&stc=1

And I think great! DBM...Click on DBM and I get:

https://www.dual-boxing.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2204&stc=1

with a zip file named 8.2.15

Yeah, I'd rather not find out on Monday that all my Curse Addons are for Retail, so I downloaded them from Classic only sites. Just my experience.

It's still a bit bugged but I've been working with the author to help make it work, it may not be done right away but soon I think

yes the search is clunky, you have to click the addon page and see to the right:
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/605554240349274142/614913842207784970/unknown.png
and pick the "WoW Classic" links

but the better way is in the twitch app, as Tin showed, select the _classic_ folder, if you then search/install from there it'll be the right versions

You scared me so I went and double checked the versions downloaded into the interface/addons folder.

The Twitch search shows game version 8.2.0 like you said but the download is the right zip. Both the latest version listed in the "My Addons" list is "DBM-Core-1.13.1-classic.zip" and the changelog.md in the interface addons folder is 1.13.1.

I was getting frustrated because the App isn't showing that drop down menu for me. But I found the issue...I had to go to the setting option to the right and add it as a game manually and point it to the retail folder.

Now, All I see are 1.13.2 addons. Going to see if they have the bulk of my addons so I can keep them auto-updated....Thanks for the help and patience to you and Tim. MB community is still my favorite gaming community:)

If https://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info25141-ClassicCodex.html works as well as pfQuest did, then I would recommend trying that, I didn't get to try it myself on stress test though.

I took the superset of addons in this thread and added some more and am really wishing I hadn't as I am getting lots of LUA errors. I am likely going to either disable most (or remove most) and see if the errors stop... If they do then I will hopefully only add 1 at a time back in slowly.

If you are using ISboxer I would start with the bare minimum addons and see if you have any issues and if not, and you need more functionality, then I would add one at a time and test/verify.

I am tired but off the top of my head the bare minimum I would recommend are:

ISBoxer (note this one should be added automatically for you by isboxer);
EMA-Classic
DynamicBoxer
WowLua (for development)

Maybe someone else can chime in with any adjustments to the above...
