View Full Version : One-on-One Video Series For ISBoxer

I decided to try something new with a one-on-one video series, where I show how to set up ISBoxer, and then how I might proceed to evolve the basic profile and personally use it. These videos are "long-form" in the sense that I am on camera doing everything right in front of you, in real time, and this leads to longer videos—that's how it works. I understand that some people are looking for quick answers when it comes to setting up ISBoxer, but others would like to see someone actually using the program with little-to-no interruption, and so this is what has caused me to create this series.
Currently, only the first video is available, but it is two-and-a-half hours long, and so I figured I'd release these as they became available because of their length and the fact that I'd rather not bombard everyone with a 6-10-hour video series all at once. The second video is almost done being edited, but I'm still setting up things for the third, and afterward, I still need to practice everything to see how I want to present the information, for the final video.
I will bump this thread as future episodes become available, but feel free to watch at your leisure.

Love your videos :) Just setup my accounts today, ready to crush this once again. (Going to be very very rusty) :)
I have wanted to look into more of a deeper dive into Isboxer you have added so much more too it since last time I used it. (years ago)
Thanks again!

Really appreciate you making stuff like this. Its an important piece for others to see it in real time.

Thanks, there definitely seem to be many enjoying this latest video, and I hope the remainder of this series will further help.
I think I'm about to render out the second part, but, as I watch this back while I edit it, I'm not entirely sure it's what people may be expecting. It's quite long—it looks to be clocking in at 3.5 hours—but, in my opinion, it doesn't warrant breaking it up, since it's a constant flow of information from start to finish. I've actually recorded this video multiple times—each attempt with a slightly different approach on delivering the information—but, the reason I say that it may not be what people are expecting, is I think some people may be looking for answers on how to play their team(s) better, which I don't think this particular video necessarily covers.
The majority of this next video is learning about Mapped Keys and how to set them up, and even by the end of it I feel that more could be said, but given the video's current runtime and the several attempts to record this across multiple days, I'm not about to redo it again just so I can add in 20-30 minutes of basic practice with setting up Mapped Keys.
In this upcoming video, I'll be showing some basics of Mapped Keys, as well as how to set up a handful of "interesting" or "fun" additions to a profile, but I won't be covering any DPS or healing techniques until the third video, and even then they'll be limited. As you'll hear me say in this next one, I'm trying to show how to better understand Mapped Keys, which are the core of ISBoxer, and after those are understood, it's then up to the user to "get creative" and personalize their profile for themselves and the team(s) that they play.
What I fear is that people will find that they've learned very little and that they'll end up feeling like they've wasted 3.5 hours of their time, but I hope that's not the case. Again, I don't feel like the video can be broken up given the way that the information is presented, however, my approach to third video will likely be different based on how I feel about this second video, and I'm hoping to make it much more "modular," rather than relying on a constant flow from start to finish—Not only for my own sanity, but so people can more easily pick and choose what they want to watch, as the third video may be even longer than this second one.
With that said, the second video of this mini-series should be available within the next 48-72 hours, as rendering such a large video and then waiting for YouTube to fully process it, is going to take quite a bit of time, and I'm still not entirely done with it as I write this post.

I'm retracting this previous statement because, as of this morning, I have decided to go in a different direction.
I am going to try to heavily minimize what's in the second video so that it's easier to follow along with, and then I think I'm going to add in an additional video before the dungeon run, which shows how to expand upon what was shown in the second video—the aforementioned "fun" and "interesting" stuff—as well as some prep work for the dungeon runs (e.g. a VFX Layout). This allows me to include more, without forcing people to watch an even longer video than originally intended.
However, my approach to the final video is expected to stay the same: a modular presentation where people can more easily pick and choose what they want to watch.

The next video in the series is available (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zamaLmVLGUA), and the one after that shouldn't be too much further behind.
After that, however, it's a different story, and I expect to put out a quick video explaining why that is.

For those interested, the second part to the second video was released earlier this morning (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ehzM7A5OHA).

There is a third, bonus video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-ADHcJky2k)showing some basic ways to handle healing and crowd control, presented in a crash course manner.

Guru MiRai did it again.
Took my time to watch the whole thing and i must say even if they are long and informative you are making it fun to watch these videos.
And i havn't really gotten into ISboxer (Former Keyclone user) but after this i have really gotten a good grasp of how to setup pretty much the basics up and letting me build my profile under the time of playing and having a better understanding of what i am doing.
So if that is something i need to refresh on i can just look on the timestamps and get things done.
Thanks again, and keep up the good work!

So, I don't know if anyone has been sitting around and waiting for a series finale for this, but I've gone ahead and made an executive decision to cut my losses on this series and halt any further production on it. I've just never been able to figure out what a final video would include, since the crash course video was always going to be a large chunk of the last video in the series, and after releasing that in its standalone form, the finale would just be a long re-cap that most people probably wouldn't want to watch. As I state in my latest vlog video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJIqiSvmeSo), I want to focus my efforts on a new Multiboxing with MiRai series, as well as some other stuff, so expect all of that in the coming months.

I admit I was patiently waiting for the series finale...but happy you are inspired to start a new project that you seem interested in! Looking forward to it!
The series was great; watched it couple of times on 2nd screen while leveling my team on launch of classic. <3
And like you mentioned in your vlog the next step/video would actually be pretty much the pro system.
Thus the only "final video content" could be a guidance how-to transition best from normal to pro setup because your existing pro-videos setting up stuff from scratch.

I knew that when I said something about not getting any requests for the final video, that the people who were waiting for it would finally speak up. ;)
Now I'm considering finishing it because it would give a proper segue into the next video series. However, tick tock goes the clock on the bonus XP event, so I had better move quickly if I'm actually doing this.

Due to the latest requests, here is the final video. This series is considered finished.

Good job, I like it. Few peaks into pro and some stuff I managed to get to work without exactly know how, but got the explanation now. ;)

Really great stuff....seeing all of the 'on the fly' changes was awesome. Thanks so much for posting this.
Now if we can get George RR Martin to finish the next book......
