What's your general plan for grouping multi-race toons? Trying to get them grouped before levelling in the same starting zone, or levelling them to level 10? In my case, I'm rolling Tauren Druid, Orc Warlock/Hunter, Troll Priest/Mage (essentially levelling to 10 3 times).

In my case, I'm rolling Tauren Druid, Orc Warlock/Hunter, Troll Priest/Mage (essentially levelling to 10 3 times).I plan & recommend to start with all the characters of the farthest away race and run them to the race whose starting zone I want to start in (and grab any races along the way) and then go out together as a group all at essentially the same level.

In my case, since I am Alliance, I plan to start with any Night Elfs and take shortcuts to the IronForge area and then grab any Dwarves &/or Gnomes, and then take the tram to StormWind getting the entire group together at the human starting area with no character higher than level 2 and head out together (and take the FedEx approach to level up the team).

More details of my plan and other peoples plans are here in this thread:

I was just reading that thread. I like the very detailed plans, though, it's geared for Alliance. I guess some trial and error is in my future. Thanks for the reply!

Trolls and orcs start in the same place in Durotar. I'd just level the druid to around 10 on his own, level the other four together, also to about 10, and have everybody meet in Barrens.

I am running a team that is 3 Orcs and 2 Trolls. The two trolls I would rather be Undead, but at the beginning of the server's life I don't want to spend 30 minutes running from Brill to Valley of Trials and getting logged out while I level two separate groups to 10 is not a viable option because of queues. So, I will just run over the two trolls to Valley...and all the trainers are at the same place for all 5 classes.

My second or "alt" team is 1 Tauren and 4 Undead. I will level the Tauren Solo to the Barrens and then level the Undead as a team of 4 until the Barrens. Then Merge them.

I tried various options of leveling different races separate till higher level, leveling until my path took me to the another racial area & then adding them to group, and just running everyone as fast as possible to meet up at a given race's starting area and this last approach was definitely the best. The running toons should only get exploration XP along the way and all end up within 1-2 levels of each other and that gap is closed as the race that did not run explores those same areas. Even if it takes 30 minutes to run to meet up that way it saves more time that that going forward & reduces complexity in quests and paths as everybody is doing the same thing from that point forward. The running should be pretty decent/fun if you take the short-cuts and do rez graveyard shortcuts when available. I know at least the Alliance side the short cuts are well documented. Hopefully the same exists on the Horde side.

I'm running my Dwarfs and Gnomes down to meet up with my Humans in Elwynn.. when I'm doing that I am also going to grab the 3 gathering professions on them as they go through IF and SW on the tram

Since I am now thinking I will initially drive on a lead Human Warrior with the other Warriors & 2 Dwarf Paladins following I may just get the 3 gathering abilities on the 3 Warriors. Maybe best to just get the group fully together initially at the Human starting point areas and grind some mobs for a bit until we have enough gold for the 3 professions and a mining pick and skinning blade and then head in to StormWind (or whatever is closest) to buy them and then head out on the FedEx path.

Do you know how much silver/gold is needed to buy all 3 gathering professions & a skinning blade & a mining pick?

EDIT: I am also thinking it best to get the 3 gathering on my Warriors as otherwise so far I have only IDed Engineering for them for PVP. For the 2 Paladins I am planning on Engineering+BlackSmithing (for the anti-fear trinket) so I would need to dump any gathering talents on the Paladins at cap. No matter what I want all 3 Gathering professions on my main team all the time at cap for gold making purposes so right now I am going to try to keep them on the Warriors...

I always do this now, and also most of the time exclude Tauren and Gnome(they can't stop getting caught on geometry)
As for the commute to Elwynn or Durotar or whatever: once they get there I try to make a mark of where their experience bar is and catch everyone else up by grinding so the difference is as small as possible.

This sounds like a solid plan. Thanks!
