I'm relearning how to box and hoping to maybe do better than before. I'd like to be able to have my pocket healer help out with healing people around me some. This might not be available in classic but on my main if I focus my healer I can see whom they're targeting. There's a keybind to target nearest player. I'm finding it only targets players in front of the toon though. I did find this macro in Google..

/targetfriendplayer [options] direction

So it seems maybe I specify the direction? Anyone know how this works?

or maybe direction is there way of succinctly saying line of sight.

Direction in this case means go to the "next" or "previous" in the list of all possible targets. Like TAB and shift-TAB works.

Targeting by macro always prefers targets in front.

I guess I never questioned tab only targeting mobs in front of me because it just made so much sense and I can’t attack someone behind me. But you can heal in all directions. Anyway, I did a little testing while boxing the other night and it doesn’t just prefer players in front of the toon it requires it. I guess that makes sense. You can’t see behind you in real life. Would be so nice for slave healing world pvp though.

I plan to have 2 Healers and VFX in both of their raid frames (with a healing add-on enabled on each healer) to be side by side into my foreground client.

Should be able to heal or cleanse any character in range that way from one or both healers (either both on the same target or separate targets as desired).
