I would like some information on anyone who has tried or is trying this comp. I hear that the holy nova's plus consecrate is very interesting and easy enough for a beginner like me to setup and run.

I would imagine the pally would be prot. The priest im not sure tho. Would they be all 4 of the same spec? Or 1 disc/holy and 3 shadow?

Can this comp run dungeons?

I want to keep things as simple as possible so I concentrate on enjoying the game and leveling experience.

You can run dungeons with most (if not all) tank/healer/3xdps groups, but how hard it is depends on your setup. And in your case you'll be low on CC and utility (and DPS won't be all that good either), so it won't be a simple or easy setup :-)

Holy Nova is less efficient in Vanilla than it was in BC (in BC it was a viable levelling tool), so I doubt that it's worth it, but it still might be fun, so if you have the time, give it a roll and let us know how it fares :-)

Based on the numbers I checked on classicdb:

Holy Nova has a 7.14% spell power coefficiency. Costs 675 mana with mental agility. Deals ~200 damage per target.
Enough mana for ~7 Holy Nova at lvl 60 (assuming you are geared already). 7 * 200 * 4 = 5600 damage, before considering crit and spell power.
Looking at some random mobs in BRD it says they have 6-8.2k hp (on classicdb).

Would deal some more damage with Power Infusion and Inner Focus, but both have a 3 min cd.

So I think it would be able to run lower lvl dungeons (although with a lot of downtime drinking) but for proper dungeons it would most likely be very hard and bothersome (might run out of mana before killing mobs, some mobs might run out of aoe and survive so then you might need to wand them down, some mob might run into another group and then you get a new group to fight with 0 mana etc).

Moorea said he used it but in TBC, so that is not the same as classic...
Apatheist said it is not viable in classic.

I wouldn't recommend multiple priests. Their damage skills have poor mana efficiency, no innate tools to replenish mana and their overall DPS is quite low.

If you want a simple group to play while you're figuring out boxing then paladin, priest and 3 mages is very effective and easy to manage. You just run in, drop consecration and then spam arcane explosion. Simple as it gets.

I might be crazy (or stupid) ;-) enough to do that.

As for the priest pally n 3 mages..

I was considering the same idea with a prot warrior instead of priest. Just use the warrior as a juiced up felguard, and charge in while still driving from the paladin, but I would have to wait for charge to be off cooldown before every pull.
