View Full Version : [Horde] NA PvP server - Multiboxing guild
<Overload>
Server: Herod - NA PvP Eastern
Faction: Horde
Raid Time: Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday between 6pm-11pm EST
Discord: https://discord.gg/keWJpHF
Guild Leader: Zalx
Created for multiboxers, by multiboxers, <Overload> aims to be THE multiboxer guild of WoW Classic. We plan to experience all endgame raids while multiboxing. Something few people will experience normally.
In the past, many of us who have played wow have had the unfortunate experience of being content locked by other players due to our unique play style. This guild plans to change that by recruiting all players specifically looking to raid as or with multiboxers.
The guild is open to recruiting all types of players from casual to hardcore. Whether you play 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 or even 40 characters.
<Overload> currently boasts having over 15 multiboxers in the guild with a total count of over 200 toons including solo players.
In raids, each toon will be treated as a unique player acquiring DKP for attendance and participation. We will also use a mild Loot Council to ensure proper classes are getting loot first (Thunderfury is NOT a hunter weapon).
A Pre-Raid BiS multiboxer hurts... but a Raid BiS multiboxer <Overload>'s.

Will you be actively recruiting in game or more casual?
I'll be starting out solo hoping to raid, and not multibox proper until I've been solo at end game for awhile. I'm also deaf, guilds willing to take me raiding are hard to find.
We'll be actively recruiting. Without a doubt there will be some bosses for multiboxers that are near impossible (like Thaddius) so having regular people for a raid is a must. Definitely want to fully fill a raid roster.
And I don't see being deaf as an issue so long as you know all the fights and do your research beforehand. Most common communication for boss fights is "Don't stand in the fire" and "DISPELL ME QUICK"
We'd love to have you.

Zal,
It seems like going Eastern locks out people who can't get on till 5pm or later Pacific.
Did you consider being on a Pacific server like Fairbanks,Whitemane, or Grobbulus and trying to include Pacific players who can start between 5-6 pm PST ?
Hi, just joined dual-boxing.com and your guild discord. Hope it takes off! I will be multiboxing on classic, likely Herod server, anyways. see you guys in game.

Pacific time wasn't even a consideration for me since I work early mornings. Many of us Eastern timezone players are unable to stay up super late due to jobs/families so I created the guild with express purpose of recruiting Eastern timezone players. If a guild is created with the intent of recruiting all time zones everyone will be inconvenienced whether it people unable to stay up late or other unable to get home for work. So I simply decided on a focus group so everyone joining has a clear time table and isn't surprised by any times.
That said, PST players are of course allowed in the guild but I'm not specifically targeting them for recruitment. If a ton of PST players do end up joining and one of them is willing to be an officer and lead a secondary raid time slot, that would be awesome!
Hopefully you're able to join us!

Hopefully you're able to join us!Yeah totally understand and frankly with 5 kids and a sick brother (we are all central) earlier is better for me/us as well. My work start time is flexible so I could do later if it helps others but wouldn't be ideal for me. I guess I have been trying to accommodate the largest group of people and should maybe just focus on the time zone that works best for me. That being said your point about having a group being able to play later allows an Eastern server to be able to support Pacific and could work as well (I hadn't thought of it that way).
For anyone still thinking about a server and/or guild. I'll be having a meeting with the people who have shown interest in joining on discord Friday (8/16) at 9pm EST to discuss guild structure, loot rules, and raiding.
Those interested are welcome to join in and listen/discuss with everyone as well.

Based on name reservations so far, the Herod realm is looking to be massively overpopulated. If all existing players on this server remain there, login queues in excess of 10,000 players are a certainty, and possibly much higher than that.
We recently opened up the Stalagg realm, and we urge players on Herod to consider moving there. There are a lot of players currently on Herod and we want Stalagg to fill up before we open any new PvP realms. This is so that player population is spread as evenly as possible before launch, in order to provide the best play experience.
While we are able to fit several times more players on a single realm in 2019 than was the case in 2006, we are not going to raise that cap any further, even though we have the technical capacity to do so. Raising realm caps would simply forestall the problem, letting more players in at launch but creating an unsustainable situation down the line, with severe queues when we turn off layering permanently before Phase 2 of our content unlock plan.
Please also note that our realm population estimates of Low, Medium, High, and Full are based on this increased capacity – a Medium realm today already has more characters on it than even the most crowded realms did back in 2006.
Our top priority in planning for WoW Classic’s launch has been ensuring that we are laying the groundwork for strong realm communities that will endure over the months and years to follow, which is why we’re cautiously opening new servers to meet demand.
I really want to join a realm with with other multiboxers, and join a horde clan, but I don't know that I'll be able to stomach crazy long queues.
On the guild discord, we're currently debating/voting on whether we'll switch to the new realm Skeram that's opening up tonight.
EDIT: Not switching. Vote was 50-50.

Just to chime in, it's gotta be tough to go to one of the new realms as the pop for the servers I think will stabilize after a month and after 2-3 months it shouldn't be much of an issue anymore. Who knows it could be insanely popular.
I think you all staying there though is a good idea.

I agree. I unfortunately had to let Zal know that I was going to be starting classic on another realm, partly due to the fact that I wasn't willing to deal with the initial queues. But I think you and a lot of other people are correct. I think Herod will end up being the most populated server long term. And I think the right thing to do is plan long term and stay there.
I have toons created on Herod and I have no doubt I will play them eventually. I give it a 50/50 chance that it will end up as my primary server at some point.

I really want to try 5-man mb raiding and I would love to join, unfortunately, my friends and family decided to move from Herod to Stalagg. I haven't seen much mention of any boxers on [H] Stalagg. :/

Hi Zal,
Thanks for getting this going. I'm interested in joining and have multiboxed classic and retail, but wanted to understand if you're looking for hardcore members exclusively or if you're accepting casuals. Unfortunately, my schedule isn't conducive to in-game commitments these days (new baby otw, b-school, work, etc.). Thanks!

We accept casuals as well. Message me in-game "Zalx" for guild invite. You can also /who Overload and message any other multiboxer for an invite.
See you in game!

How are the que's now on this server?

None to manageable if you get in early in the day. I personally have been able to avoid the queue everyday since launch. Highest I've heard it get is around 8,000 during peak play time hours.

Bump(so everyone sees) - Feel free to hop in the discord if you've got any questions, PM or @ either myself or Zal. Queues are also down to below 2k and usually only that high around 7-8pm EST.

I'd say we have over 20 multiboxers in the guild now. 82 toons online is our record so far. At the rate we're going, we could probably have 2 separate MB raids for 40 mans once we all get 60.

Are you guys recruiting low level characters as well? I'm boxing 15 accounts but 10 of them are lvl37 and 5 of them are lvl20, it'll be a long time before I hit 60. If you are okay with this, I would transfer to Herod from Kirtonos.

Legitimate question as I am keen to raid as a multiboxer on your mild loot council, for example, Choker of the Firelord, is a healer allowed to take this over a DPS?
I ask because it's BIS for both roles but gives more utility to DPS, I imagine as the word "light" was used that is acceptable and its more geared towards people taking OS/PvP loot

You may also need to handle fairly some folk who are alt heavy and wanting to bring/gear multiple teams and/or teams that aren't ideal for the raid and incentivizing teams/specs that best suit the raid (and max gearing a single team for each player) would be wise/reasonable.

Personally, I'd prioritize it to caster dps since healers could get https://classic.wowhead.com/item=18723/animated-chain-necklace a lot easier for relatively same stats. Also, Choker is still BiS through Phase 3 for dps while it gets replaced for healers.
