How are you intending to gear your characters other than 5 man dungeons?

I think I will join a guild to raid with my priest since I want Benediction/Anathema.

I might try to join some more guilds for my other characters but might be a waste of time to get MC/Ony gear on them.
Instead I might spend the time lvling other teams to lvl 35, do professions and farm gold.

In phase 2 I think I will focus on PVP, maybe completely ignore PVE and just try to get as high rank as possible (if phase 2 lasts 3 or more months I might be able to reach rank 11-13 on everyone, rank 10 should at least be easy for blue pvp gear).

I will probably run around mainly at BRM/searing gorge/burning steppes to do world pvp. Maybe switch it up a little with EPL/WPL, winterspring/felwood and silithus/ungoro. Probably a good idea to have mining/herbalism/skinning for phase 2.

In phase 3 I might join a premade bg team to get rank 13 on 1 character.

In phase 3-6 I might try to join guilds and do raids with 1 character at a time, making sure that main character always joins raid and the other characters when raid time doesn't overlap.

You’re almost definitely not going to find a guild that will let you multibox in raids so your only options are to raid on 1 character or farm tons of gold and buy raid carries. Personally I’m going to be 40boxing mc/ony and bwl lol.

Ye, I only intend to use 1 character at a time in raids.

Not many that would allow multiboxing and even if they do then it would be a lot of drama. If they only allow 1 character to get loot (since you are 1 person) then it is pointless also, better to play 1 character at a time but more time consuming and might cause issues with not getting much loot because not being in every raid.

I kinda want to get r13 in phase 2 if possible because of how good the gear is. Similar gear to bwl I think but more pvp focused stats.
12k RP per week for 13 weeks = r13. 11k RP per week for 12 weeks = r12.
Doesn't feel impossible to get r12 or maybe r13 although I expect phase 2 to be max 12 weeks and hard competition for honor.

There's no reason at all you can't 5 box raids in classic if your composition is suitable and you can find a guild that isn't full of people who just have an irrational dislike for multiboxers. It's not like later expansions where your ability to box raids is limited by mechanics. There is no encounter in any classic raid tier that can't be easily managed while boxing. I would think mages would be a great class choice with this in mind. Stacking 6-8 mages in a raid is great with ignite stacks and decursing plays a big role in a lot of fights.

After you've proven yourself attendance-wise and if you take the time to farm gear/consumables most sensible raid leaders would view having 4-5 reliable DPS as a blessing while trying to fill 40 slots every week. Many guilds on retail already struggle with a 10-25 flex roster.

You might benefit from playing a single character and getting comfortable in a guild and then just offering to fill in when needed (which I'm pretty sure will happen a lot.) Once people see you can pull your weight while boxing I can't see why they wouldn't be happy to invite your alts again. Beats giving away loot to a pug or not being able to raid, right?

This is patently untrue. There were several folks that were in boxer-friendly raid guilds back in the day. Granted, it's less likely in a guild that has just enough people to form a hardcore raiding clique but I wouldn't just count it out. ;)

[edit] Also, what Apatheist said.

If you're intending to do this I'd pick your guild carefully up front with this in mind. I dual-boxed from the beginning in WoW. And I ran 5-mans with 2 friends (one of whom also dual boxed). I've raided in 3 different guilds. None of them were interested in letting me dual-box during raids - even when we were having problems getting enough people. Part of this was, frankly, due to social issues. All of the guilds I ran with had complicated loot rules, where you earn points based on attendance, etc. How would that be handled for someone multi-boxing? How would the other players feel about that? Etc.

I quit doing raids around BC and loot is generally handled very differently now. It might be very different this time around. And it might not... It would be very interesting to get into a raiding guild dedicated to multi-boxing...

I'm working on creating a guild for multiboxers (and normal players of course) with the intent of raiding while boxing if you're interested in joining. I personally hope to have an entire raid with nothing but boxers to really give us a fun challenge. Here's the discord link if you'd like to join: https://discord.gg/keWJpHF Discord is still a work in progress so don't mind the wet paint.

A few details about the guild....
<Overload> US PvP server, eastern time zone (if possible). Horde faction. Guild will be that mid-point between casual and hardcore with an Eastern timezone based raid schedule probably between 6pm-11pm (exact start and end times TBD).
