Hi there,
new 5 boxer here. My team of paladin, priest, 3x mages put rfc on farm status last night. Good feeling to finally be leveling in an instance where I can get a break from the constant /w HAXX!!
I promise I'll get a screenie up soon, although my UI is embarrassingly 'stock-standard WoW'. Running keyclone on 2 PCs, my main on one with a 20in widescreen and the clones on a 17in widescreen using maximizer function in keyclone.
Anyhow on to my problem, I'm using focus for CC so far and /assist main macros for all my offensive spells. The problem I'm having is that occasionally my sheeps just don't happen when I expect them to. This is not always the same problem, sometimes it goes off without a hitch. When I do have problems, it isnt always the same outcome. So its proving hard to figure out by myself. Hopefully someone will be able to spot the flaws in my macros.
I set up keybinds for num-1, num-2, num-3. On my main, I just assigned these in WoW keybinds to raid target icons (moon, triangle, diamond).
On my mages I assigned them to a button on the right action bar, same position, with each mage respectively using one of the num buttons, and placed an identical macro there for all mages.
/assist main
/focus
The mages then got another macro to cast the spell:
/cast [target=focus] polymorph
I should also mention that I put the following in my /follow macro:
/clear focus
/follow main
Now, I ran out and tested this (maybe a bit too quickly as I was eager to get to rfc) outside falcon lodge on some mobs way too low for me, and all seemed ok. However, when it really counted in rfc, on the first pull of a group of 5 orcs and a voidwalker. I either stood there hopelessly with my tank in the middle of a group while my mages all got "you dont have a target" messages. Or in one case, all 3 of them cast sheep on the same mob :/ another variant is that one of the mages just doesnt get a /focus target while the other 2 do. Luckily I'm now high enough and quick enough on my pally taunt Iwin button to survive one missed CC, but I need to get this sorted before I move on to WC.
Thanks in advance for any help.
*edit* - forgot to mention that I figured out that at least some of the failures happen this way: I click the num-1 button, pally sets raid icon, mage doesnt even target the mob. So I know it hasnt set a /focus. No idea why, but I've just been watching the other screen closely when setting CC targets now and it just means another 2 presses to make sure its set. This has eliminated 75% of the failures, but not all.
