Hello everyone, let me say first sorry for my crappy English.
Then second thank you in advance for the toughts sharing
Any way i have been thinking a lot, for a 5man group for vanilla wow.
And i really need some help/input or other idea's.
currently i have in my mind:
human prot warrior: this will be my main for raiding
3x mage: strong aoe & single target
holy paladin: strong healer blessing of salvation will help a lot aswell
*I was thinking of a group that can level atleast on decent speed (i concider lock, hunter, frost mage as fast levelers)
*That can aoe farm (i have 3x arcane explosion and concecration in this build)
*For dungeons i got enough cc, strong aoe, and strong single target
*Only down side is cloth got a lot of contenders, but i only will use the mages(and pala) for farming and dungeons
My other toughts where
Human prot warrior, 4balance druid or 3balance and 1 resto, the druids got each 2 dots, average single target, can wear leather and cloth
basicly just dot a lot of mobs.
Down side no ress, starting zones are on 2 different continents :(
Prot human warrior 3x balance, holy priest
Basicly the same story as above and a stamina buff
Prot human warrior 3x affliction and a priest or pala healer
Q&A
Why a group of 5? i want to do dungeons or farm them besides my main goal raiding.
And by playing a group of 5 the profit is a lot bigger and playtime is more efficient.
No down time from players leaving or ninja looting or slacking in dps, no loot sharing with other people(losing a roll on a item)
all the items that i dont need can be disenchanted
Did you concider hunters in your group?
Yes but im affraid that if i lose aggro some mob or mobs will run trought my hunters, and back than hunters need 5yard distance to use the range weapon? witch is a big dmg lose
melee?
I personaly have a bad expierence with a 4 melee for some reason i can't get it to work that the melee do want i want them to do.
but if it do work it will save a lot of mana drinking and that will increase the downtime.
but if it did work i will probely go for
prot warrior, feral(cat) druid, 2xhunter and some healer
or to keep it simple 4warriors and a healer
Im really intressted what others have to say or what there idea's might been for classic wow
kind regards

War/pal/3xmage should work just fine. I'm doing pretty much the same thing you are, except I plan to main lock or mage, rather than warrior.
I'm going war/pri/lock/2xmage but I doubt there'll be major difference in terms of what you'll be able to do. Lock adds some utility but the mage arguably has better DPS - at least with pre-raid gear.

I'm going with the same comp as you fuzzyboy, I ran it on a private server and really liked it.
I also plan on pretty much leveling only in instances from level 18 on, having the warlock to summon so I can send my guys back to vendor and train when I'm out in SM is going to be probably worth the lower dps the warlock does over all.

Hi, im new on multiboxing, but I really enjoy it. Im also plan to go a 5 man team in classic. But Im afraid the levling will be painfully slow in a 5 man grp. Levling in instances on retail is so much easier then classic ever will be, don't you think?
Are you gonna quest/grind to lvl 18 with all the toons together of are you gonna split them up in duos?
I was testing levling a 5 man grp in retail now just for getting the hang of multiboxing and controlling a mixed team. But, I thought it went to slow to lvl them up even with heirlooms gear. It was so much faster going duos til lvl 15.
What Im trying to say is that I want to go full team but at the same time I want to hit lvl 60 kinda fast. So I was thinking of going with a duo team Warr/Pala instead. Witch I've tried on a private server with good resaults :) You all quest pretty easy, even the collective ones and so on.
What do you guys think? Is it worth it going 5 man team in classic or should I go with the duo team? :)
Thankful for any input and happy to finally be apart of the multibox community!

For my part it really depends under what circumstances the launch will be. If they go with no sharding/dynamic respawns, then completing quests for the whole group will be more or less impossible until the zones have calmed down a bit.
Under normal circumstances I would just follow a levelling guide like Joanas (or similar), skip the most tedious collection quests that are not part of an important questchain and run pretty much all dungeons (+dungeon quests) to compensate. It might not be the most efficient route, but a lot of the fun I have multiboxing is running dungeons with my group. So don't mind a little sub-par XP and a bit of travel time.
You can also grind on elite mobs in the open world with your group - although there are not too many areas and I have no idea if this is efficient or not (https://wowwiki.fandom.com/wiki/Elite_areas) - I don't really see any advantages to this over going in instances.
Either way, expect a lot more /played time before you hit 60 than if you solo, but hopefully you'll have more fun in the process :-)

Back in vanilla, I did 2 mages, 2 priests and a prot pally.
I believe it took 17 or so days (very long, but I did a lot of afking) to hit 60.
Once I was level 20 or so, I did dungeons all the way to 60.
Had a few boss problems but I mainly just ignored bosses if they were too hard.
Never really had any instance problems though..free water/food, arcane explosion/holy nova/consecration/holy shield was amazing.
I'd love to try a prot war or druid instead of a paladin though but I just don't see good combinations/macros with arcane explosion/holy nova with a prot war/druid

Thank you all for the input.
I have readed some where also the 3x destruction locks is also pretty good.
Specially with the talent points in pyroclasm combined with hellfire to stun aoe your targets down.
Only down side i see is that when you cast hellfire you lose x amount hp that is needed to heal back up.
And can put you when your to low in a vulnerable position.
@fuzzyboy I'm for 90%sure I will go with the first option (warr,3mage,pala) the mages I will make fire I want them to do as much as possible dmg unless there to many dungeons where there bosses that are fire immune

I'd probably go with a paladin healer as well, if it wasn't for the fact that I''ll be horde :-)
Regarding frost vs fire, I believe both will work just fine. From what I've been able to read on various forums, fire will be a bit better dps, but with more drinking for mana between fights. I prefer frost, mainly because from what I understand, the DPS difference isn't much, but it's a 1-button setup, which greatly reduces complexity when boxing. From what I understand you need to weave in scorches in the fire spec, but again, I'm very far from an expert on the topic, so take it with a grain of salt :-)
I don't know enough about frost vs fire in vanilla to say much about threat, though I would guess that frost is less threat / dmg due to talents (https://classicdb.ch/?talent#of0E0ofquZVA0c0s).
Either way, you should be fine with both specs - vanilla dungeon mechanics aren't that complicated and you'll likely be limited by your ability to CC and maintain threat on your tank way before DPS becomes a limiting factor :-)

Frost is actually better DPS at low gear levels. It's much more mana efficient and winter's chill buffs the DPS of all mages in the party.
Fire pulls ahead significantly once you're geared. Like many expansions, it needs a decent amount of crit rating to be viable.
Whether or not warrior as a tank is preferable for boxing over a druid or paladin depends if the threat from battle shout is working as it did in vanilla. If it is, warriors are definitely the best choice for a dungeon tank. Battle shout in its pre-2.0.1 state generated more TPS than consecration. If battle shout is nerfed, you'll struggle holding threat on multiple mobs in order to clear trash quickly and a paladin might be a better option. Another thing we'll need to test during the beta.
