Hey Guys.

I am new to dual-boxing. I am trying to find the best way to boost a low level toon's XP gain in using a level 70 toon.
I have been running my low level toon through instances like Wailing Caverns, however a mate suggested I pop my low level
just inside the instance, use my 70 to aggro the entire instance, dot them up and zone out, so that when the mobs die
the low level toon gets all the xp. Has anyone tried this?

Thanks in advance

Rather than rehashing this topic again, check out this thread....

That should work in theory yes. But I'm not sure if your lowbie will take aggro when you leave the instance etc. I'm gonna try this myself when I start boxing again.

Unless I've very much mistaken what you intend to do, I believe this has been been discussed to death very, very recently in this thread ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=5554'), which in itself was a re-hash of something previously posted.

However, I do know it's sometimes hard to find information when a community has become this large, especially with so many reposts cluttering up search results.

Thanks for all the input, will have a look at those threads.

I will read these threads also but I tried this a few days ago and when you zone out on your 70 lock (or what ever) your dots are removed. So your toons have to be able to "finish them off". At least thats what it looks like to me. I will read these threads but it seems that this was fixed in one of the patches recently. Its still really fast to just run your guys through places like WC, SM, ZF, ST etc... thats what I'm doing.

It still works, I was doing this myself just last night. It's around the 2nd or 3rd fastest way to powerlevel, though when all you have is a DoT class you take what you can get.

I messed around with it alittle bit, wasn't too bad. But if you have access to a 70 paladin or mage your best bet is probably instance boosting with them. That's just my opinion though.

Is it just me or is Stockades just wicked good for boosting? You can round up most of the instance in one pull, it's a small place and you can basically just skip looting since nothing drops in there anyhoo.

Apart from the Convict knockdown, it's a very good place to blast through a few levels, yes.

I boost with a mage there, usually in three pulls (one for each "wing"), but sometimes end up cutting the pull short due to the knockdown. I loot with the drones for as long as it takes to get back to full mana, then push on.

With the shops right outside for selling all the crap, a mailbox not far away for sending cloth to my auction guy, it's pretty much perfect.

Having said all that.... I don't stay there long beyond level 20 because of those damn knockdowns! Get four or five of those on the trot and a mage is in serious trouble (still alot quicker than with my pally though).

At least I can resist the Hammers of Justice from the guys in SM!

Old thread is old, but, I'm not convinced a mage is really that much faster in Stockades. With my Paladin, I 2-pull and clear inside of 7 minutes total (zone in -> clear -> reset) no looting though. How fast is a mage?

>How fast is a mage?

Three pulls + drinking... sometimes more pulls if I find I'm getting knocked down too much. Erm.... close to 15 minutes, I imagine, with any of my 70 mages.

It obviously depends what you compare it to. Compared to MY prot pally (11.5k health, 5.5k mana, Armor: 14743, Defense: 486,Dodge: 11.73%, Parry: 15.44%, Block: 11.84% and only 225 spell damage!) my mage is much, much quicker.

With my pally it's an exercise in patience. He's never in any danger of dying, but then neither are the mobs ;)
