I'm at the point where I'm looking to do some updates to my setup, and I was looking at the viability to use a 4k tv as opposed to using a bunch of 1080p monitors. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I can see several issues that would dissuade me from using a TV. Input lag and lack of Gsync support being the two primary issues. Plus the lack of refresh rate above true 60Hz unless you're willing to fork out for a top of the line box. It's also not as easy to divide up your realestate on a single large screen. There is software available that attempts to emulate windows "snap" feature but none is flawless and they rarely play well with games or full screen video.
I went from 4k@60 to 2x1440p@120Hz and have found it to be a much more enjoyable experience in every way.

Don't buy one not suited for gaming.

Should have mentioned that this would be an alt display, I still would have my main monitor for main account/regular gaming.

Well, if you feel like all that cash in your pockets is weighing you down you could always pick up one of the new Nvidia "BFGD."

Does knowing this information change something with the original question? What is your main monitor's resolution and physical size? You don't plan on gaming on this TV, or ...?
