Hi all!
So like the title says I'm leveling 14 new toons from 110 to 120. All same class and race. To that end I had a few questions which maybe some of you have some answers to. Note; my questions are strictly in game based.

What I'm interested in:
Fastest way to level all 14 at once.

My experience so far:
I've leveled 5 at the same time.
I've played up to 10 characters at once.

What I do NOT need help with:
Hardware/Software related issues.

My questions:
I assume questing would be fastest - so no raid group, please correct me if I'm wrong.
Should I level all at once, would that not be fastest or should I level 5 at a time?
It might also be possible to go 7 at a time in two groups (3+4) this way they would all get kills during quests.
What group/groups split should I use; 5+5+4 or 3+4+3+4 or something else?

That's all the questions I could think of. If you have other tips related to the topic please let me know. I would be interested to hear what you all might have for me.
Cheers!

Questing with 3+4 / 3+4 is probably the best way to do it.

As mentioned, 3,4,3,4 will do. You'll have to do most kill quests twice with 14 as tap caps out at 9

Ohh it's 9, I thought it was 8?

This now opens for the possibility of doing 4+5 and another 5 after.

Though, yeah I am leaning towards 3+4 twice.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I could understand how 9 might be doable, but for 4x2 farming only 8 are used for very good reasons. If a 5 group loots first, the other group gets nothing as shared loot in farming caps out at 5, but always includes the full group if it includes anyone.

I honestly don't know what really is the limit, 8 or 9. You might find that for questing purposes ensuring the correct group looted first is too much hassle and need to settle for groups of 8. Also note that quest items might not work the same way as normal loot. Test it out and let us know. I am at least curious.

there is also way more data on 8 simply because 8 is the blizzard account cap. If the 4 team loot first, the 5 team can loot after.

That's a good point.
It seems I will have to split it in 2 separate runs. Most likely 2x(4+3).

Thanks for the help guys.

I've always understood loot to work on tags. The first five people and their groups to tag a mob get loot. I box 8 in two teams of 4, so I'm always good as long as no one else is tagging the mobs.

I'm not 100% sure it would work, but you might want to try arranging your toons over 3-4 groups and 'disarm' some of them. What I mean by this is to make them not attack and therefore not tag a mob and push it over the tag cap before the other teams get a chance to tag. They should get xp for the kill by their teammate and theoretically everyone should be able to loot. Considering the time it could save you I think it would be worth the time to test it.

If you are leveling 4 groups, assign key "4" so that only members from group 4 attack with instant spell/or your single target dps macro, to tag the questmob(s). Then carry on towards group 1 with key 3.....2....and 1... and you are done.

Keep in mind that sometimes, after you complete a quest, that group can get phazed. So its good practice to complete all the others "4/5 complete", then when all groups have 1 more kill from completing, start from the last group and go towards your main group.

Whenever i levelled only two groups, i used 1 mousebutton to have group 2 tag and 1 button for group 1. Worked nicely.
