View Full Version : [Classic] How do you manage different races at startup?

In the context of a brand new game (wow classic), if you want to have a mixed team and races, what are the ways you manage this? I have only played Horde.
For discussion purposes (seriously, don't comment on the group comp, lol):
Warrior Tauren
Undead Priest
Orc Shaman
Undead Warlock
Troll Mage
Would you run these to a specific zone?
Would you level these up independently until you can get them all to The Barrens?

Hmm, perhaps finish the starter area then move to Durotar / Razor Hill and quest from there, or even grind the Quillboars, mobs in the caves to the East? of Razor Hill to ~10, then move to The Barrens.. Or quest up to a certain point individually and just use an instance summoning stone to gather them all up and go from there(RFC / WC / SFK) though i can't quite recall the minimum level to use those, level 10 or 15 i think.
Also dont forget that for each of those races you have a relatively short run to the Zeppelin that'll drop all your character's off in Org / Tirisfal Glades and TB.
If i were to run a mixed grouped like that, i would probably just autorun the Orc and Troll to Razor Hill, while taking the Zeppelin to Org with the others, and then run those to Razor Hill also - Then grind at the Fortress outside Razor Hill to ~6, and start questing or grinding Quillboars or the higher level mobs to the east? in the caves to 10 or so, then move to The Barrens around then.

There are no achievements in classic, so besides being fun there is no reason to do every quest in the starting area. Might as well just gather them together as soon as possible to level together.
Just as the above poster suggested.

If you do a warlock you have to do imp quest before moving in another aera.
I suggest you to bring everyone to mulgore. There you will have less poeple to compete with for your grind until you are lv 12 or 13 to get to RFC. And you will be near TB to get RFC quests.

I prefer getting everybody together before I start leveling.
I'd probably run the undead to the Undercity and catch a zeppelin from Undercity to Orgrimmar, run the orc and troll north to meet up with them in Razor Hill and run everybody through the Barrens to meet up with your tauren in Mulgore. Probably die a few times from high level agro but you have to suffer through it if you want to mix races that much.
Personally I'd just go orc or undead with my warrior and save myself some hassle. WotF and 25% Stun resist / 5 axe skill are both better than 5% HP anyway.

I would just run them all to the starting zone you're most familiar with and i think you could do the imp quest in vally of trials aswell since there were orc warlocks either. But as already pointed out, valley of trials is where the big party will be either:) unless they do the phasing thing as on retail (which I reallly really hope atleast for the starting areas)

1 concern I had depending on the group setup -- I need to double check any class quests that are in nearby zones. I think back to the original shaman totem quests.

for orc shamans its durotar for earth and fire totem, the most annoying one is water totem as it sends you back in forth in the entire barrens/ashenvale/silverpine forest/back to barrens, and air is thousand needles
since you're running a caster setup I do also recommend doing that sunken temple shaman quest for https://vanilla-wow.fandom.com/wiki/Enamored_Water_Spirit
