I've read that mutiboxing has changed quite a bit over the years with Blizzard seemingly trying to nerf it in certain areas of the game. I was wondering where can you play multiboxers these days? Say I had 10 elemental shamans, can I play them in below?

Ranked arenas
Ranked and none ranked battlegrounds
Just leveling up/questing
Raids/dungeons
Public PvP zones (I saw they nerfed /follow, is there some other software to follow you? would they ban you for using that?

Thanks!

Multiboxing is not banned in any of those activities and there are people here doing each of those things.

For PvP; There is no working follow while currently engaged in PvP combat and for a couple seconds after. Those who enjoy it are using Interact with Target which seems to be working just fine with melee teams (I have not tried out ele shaman).

For PvE; BfA mechanics are less forgiving and are tougher for multiboxers, I've yet to do any high mythics, but everything is still workable.

With the exception of removing follow from PvP, nothing was a nerf directed at multiboxers.

Hey! Thanks for replying! That's good to hear, so essentially people are still multiboxing but when the PvP starts they kind of just stay still and nuke things until it's over? I just googled interact with target; it sounds like for melee it will just run and hug the target? Will I achieve same functionality as /follow if I make my control character the "target" and instead of casting on my target, I always cast on /focus? Are there any programs that offer an alternative to /follow?

Just to clarify, the follow function is 100% disabled on all battleground maps: rated, non-rated, and large-scale. Otherwise, everything else John said is relevant.

Yes.

You cannot interact with friendly players.

I'm sure there are, but we abide by the rules of the game on this forum, and so such programs are not allowed to be discussed here.

Interact with Target together with Click to Move only works on things you can click on, such as enemies, vendors, or quest NPCs. If you have a melee team they will run to the target and attack. Most ranged teams will run towards the target and once in range stop and attack. So it works ok while engaged in PvP.

In you're in an outdoor PvP BG where mounts are allowed, you might be able to replace follow with a multiperson mount. You'll have to experiment though I dont know if it will work. Theres a new 5 person mount now the Hive mind.

As far as programs to replace follow, no there is nothing. If they don't want you to do something then finding a work-around to do it would just get you in trouble. Just stick to the basic IWT and Face Target built right into IsBoxer, assuming you're using that software.

Thanks for replies! I'm not actually a multiboxer, but it looks really fun and I was debating playing around with it a bit. The most fun for me looks to be had in battlegrounds but unfortunately after reading that /follow is disabled in BGs then I don't see how it's feasible.
