Figured I would say "Hi!" and express a great appreciation for the community in general here (in spite of being a rather small one). Some very helpful and creative folks here. /salute
I've been doing 4-boxing for a few years now (with a buddy in RL filling in slot 5). Mostly, I do 4 of the same class as managing multiple strings of hotkeys is tedious to setup and can be annoying to work around vagaries in keyboard layout preferences.
My basic setup is ghetto PCs (laptop, P4-1.8, P4-2.2 and P4-3.2) using wireless keyboard for the mass keypress events and Duplicity for mouse control of individual boxes for looting, etc. Inexpensive and works like a charm.
Currently doing 4 shadow priests (DPS=heals=WIN!) at almost 69 and liking things. Only real issue is not being able to solo instances just due to being too squishy to deal with bosses and elite zergs. Just did roll out of nagrand at 68.6, so I'll have plenty of leftover questing for the shadoweave/spellstrike materials costs. ;)

There are some vids of my 4-man 70 midget mages on there as well. Rather interesting to be able to speed-farm strat/scholo with those guys.
Also giving some serious thought to getting my 5th PC and doing a shaman group on Magtheridon when my friends aren't on. Seeing the movies of 5-boxing heroics has me doing some serious thinking. :P
My only regret is having done 4-box in DAoC before I had the capability to broadcast keystrokes (back when Team Wizzy was still playing his first team). Oh, the things I could have done... /wistfulsigh
