Hey all, I recently started multi-boxing, tri-boxing to be precise. Anyways I am wondering what the best 3 character combo is. I am planning on questing to around 15-20 then I was hoping to instance most of the rest. I was thinking either 3 shaman or 3 priest, the problem is with 3 priest I wont put out enough damage until they get around 40, with shaman I was also sceptical about the damage output.
Do you think since i only have 3 characters a better choice would be 3 warlocks? Yes I would loose the ability to heal, but wouldn't having a group of 3dps+3 pets be better then a group with only 3 healers?
Any feedback would be appreciated :)

I'm tri-boxing atm, exact same plan as you, go to 20 then do instances. I went with 2 warlocks and a priest. Warlocks because they have pets that can tank, and they require very little effort to do decent DPS. And the priest is there for healing, although I might spec her Shadow if it turns out the healing isn't really needed. I was thinking of adding a Paladin, and some other class later on so I can do heroics, but that's going to be a while.
Anyway, I think warlocks are a good choice.

Elemental shamans are a lot of fun as well.
In the end it's your preference though, you'll be the one playing them for quite some time to come, and many different set ups are viable.

Mage, Pet Offtank (WE)
Why did I read that as "WHATEVER"? xD

The problem with 3x dps class is that you would need to find a tank and a healer to do instances, which is going to be a PITA. What about a feral druid plus 2x your choice? The druid can tank or heal just fine given appropriate gear. If you did feral druid plus 2x ele shamans you could tank and heal.

Hunters can DPS while healing the pet.
And breaking out 33% of your DPS to heal means you lose the ability to get through lots of encounters because you just can't DPS fast enough any more. With 3 pet classes, by the time whatever it is kills the last pet, you should have it almost dead or close enough that you can kill it before things get really ugly. Pets are cheap to replace/feed/etc. if they die. ;)

Im currently leveling this combo (1x feral druid, 2x elem shaman) and it is a very easy group to work with. You dont dps your way through everything like you would with 3x dps classes, but it gives you a bunch of flexability and room to screw up pulling adds. Also you can respec the druid boomkin and get the crit bonus from aura along with the totem of wrath/air buffs that all stack nicely.
Pick what works for you, different combo's work differently for everyone. This combo works really well for me though YMMV.

I don't get this. How is a hunter who stops dps'ing to cast Mend Pet any less of a break in your dps than an ele shaman who casts a heal? Plus shamans get passive healing in the form of totems.
