Shamans - Astral Recall / Hearthstone in 1-button?

I'm not at home and I cannot test this... but has anyone done a macro like this successfully?


/cast Astral Recall
/use Hearthstone

correct me if i'm wrong but i think both of those items have a world timer, so you can't cast them in 1 macro unless you put it in a cast sequence which i dunno how to write :P but a cast sequence macro should work fine for that.

I dont need to burn both. I should have clarified. I just want a 1-button "home" key. If Astral Recall is up, cast it. If not, use Hearthstone.

There might GCD on Astral Recall, so maybe insert a /stopcasting between the two? I'm really not sure though :).
Edit: Although the GCD shouldn't trigger when it's on cooldown right?

Not THAT often, but there has been times where I was lazy. I would hearth, turn a quest in, pick up the next quest, run out and complete, in less than 10 mins. Why have a hearth AND astral recall and not take full advantage? :)

uh, reset=5 seems silly on a castrandom. :P
unless there is some unknown functionality of that macro command that I have not encountered. :)

/castrandom is probably your best option for casting and being able to use either if it is up- though sometimes the HS will get used, not the AR. And sometimes you will have to double or triple tap the button if one option is on CD.

You can just do :

/castsequence reset=900 Astral Recall, Hearthstone

This will cast Astral Recall on the first click, and Hearthstone on the 2nd, resetting back to Astral Recall after 900 seconds (15 minutes). If you want to do Hearthstone 1st then Astral Recall change the order and increase the reset to 3600 (60 minutes).
Keep in mind that the castsequence timer will reset itself if you relog.
