Ok I've come into a tiny bit of money and want to build a great rig with very high benchmark results. I'm reaching out to all you for a few questions. I will be getting the asus rog motherboard of course and the new nvidia 2080 card. What chip is top at this moment and then for ssd and hdd memory pretty much everything else lol. I just want to make something that will not only play wow but will handle all games at max settings.

How many games do you plan to play at max settings at the same time? (Hint, it wont be possible to play that many..).

Asus ROG Swift PG27UQ thats the monitor i want to get but its a tad pocket raping lol. But anything that could handle up to those specs

How many wow games do you aim to play on that single monitor (and at the max resolution possible).

Well I have two smaller monitors already for my alts so my main is on that screen. My other 4 will be split on two monitors

If you have to have the motherboard you wanted, it seems it only support max 6 core / 12 thread cpus.

Ive also never played with higher resolutions than 1080p, so im not sure how much VRAM you would need to play 5 games in 4k. It could be more than the 8 GB of VRAM the 2080 has.

Maybe some others know more details.

Compatibility Notes

The motherboard M.2 slot #1 shares bandwidth with a SATA 6.0 Gb/s port. When the M.2 slot is populated, one SATA 6.0 Gb/s port is disabled.
The motherboard M.2 slot #2 shares bandwidth with SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports. When the M.2 slot is populated with a PCIe-based M.2 drive, two SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports are disabled.

Is there a better mb. I am partial to asus.

I changed the motherboard (64 gb ram now, but room for 128 gb ram if you need to increase it later on).

Also the cpu is now a intel 10 core, 20 threads.

You can now have up to 4 cores per game, if you choose to play 5 games at 4K

That should give you some more headroom and futureproofing.


The only possible issue is the gfx card, ideally you might just go for any nvidia 1080ti which has 11 gb of vram, as im not sure 8 gb vram on the 2080 will be enough.

Just noticed that the new nvidia 2080 ti will have 11 gb vram. Its 1200 dollars though, supposedly. If you can afford it, that would be the best. But ofc the 1080 ti should do the trick nicely.
