...except for Mining and Herbalism.
hey guys,
i am thinking a lot about which Team should get which Profession these days. For pure Gold making there are benefits in having 5 times the same Profession (massproduction)i think, but thats not my goal.
So the bottleneck in every Profession seems to be Expulsom , Hydrocore and Reputation.
- Expulsom can be "traded" with greens, thats not a big deal.
- Hydrocore is only obtainable in mythic dungeons, thats a big deal.
- Reputation grind for rank 3 recipes with several Teams, meeeh.
For me it looks like, having all Professions in one Team is a nice thing in BfA.
But i never had any experience with that so i might miss some cons.
What are your thoughts on this?
greetings

From a logistics standpoint, and considering I don't have BfA yet so I don't know how @120 will work, my experience has been that it's FAR easier to gang up the same profession e.g. Tailoring on the whole group and figure out what sells well from those guys. Then sell those things and just buy what I can of the rest once money isn't an issue. Granted, won't help with things that are BoP only, but for things that can be traded between toons, it makes things a LOT easier moving inventory around to the guild bank and such.

For gold making purposes, there are four general ways to accomplish that with professions. 1) cooldowns, 2) BoP reagent usage (Expulsom, etc) 3) rare recipes, and 4) gathering.
Evaluating the profession value requires something specific to the profession. For instance the Vial of the Sands (Alchemy Mount, all reagents BoE) based on wowhead prices sells for about 90k and is made of pieces that sell for 86k. Assuming a mount was sold for 90k, after the 5% AH cut, only 85.5k would be received. Since it's not worth directly buying the reagents to craft the mount, the value of the mount recipe is basically 0. Any value earned from crafting the mount is due to the value of collecting the reagents, not due to the value of performing the combining. If the mats sell for about the same as the item, the value is in the mats, not the crafting.
The value in #1 is fairly consistent and useful. Alchemy is a perennial choice. Darkmoon cards and Inscription is often good at the start of an expansion. I am not playing BfA currently, so research the specifics yourself.
The value in #2 is likely minimal in the absence of #1 (if there's a daily conversion limit either to Expulsom or to items, then value, otherwise, anyone could gather Expulsom and do the crafting)
The value in #3 is generally minimal, exceptions made for recipes no longer in game since it doesn't take that many interested parties to make the crafted price be close to the mats price.
The value in #4 is magnified for multiboxers since nodes can be harvested up to 10x. Single boxers only get 1 set of herbs, multiboxers get up to 10.
My suggestion would be for gathering professions if you're willing to devote time to earning gold with professions as multiboxers have a unique advantage here and to focus on cooldowns if you're not.
Edit: If you have multiple teams/characters per account, then gathering on one set (druids?) and cooldowns on the others

Thx for your replies guys.
Right now i have two 5 man Teams on 120: Druids for gathering only and Shamans as my main Team, which are gathering too...yet
The Druids are making a lot of Gold now so i am fine with that.
In BfA are almost no cooldowns and no BoP crafted Gear, you can sell everything you craft in the Auctionhouse or trade. There is one new craftable and sellable mount, you need Blacksmithing and Engineering to be able to craft this thing. So this two professions should be on the list.
PvE setup :
1 - Enchanting / Engineering
2 - Enchanting / Blacksmithing
3 - Enchanting / Alchemy
4 - Enchanting / Jewelcrafting
5 - Enchanting / Inscription
or the lazy setup for little more extra gold until mythics/Hydrocore become relevant.
1 - Enchanting / Herbalism
2 - Enchanting / Herbalism
3 - Enchanting / Herbalism
4 - Enchanting / Herbalism
5 - Enchanting / Alchemy
To be honest, the lazy way looks far more easyier, like Ughmahedhurtz said.
Having 5 x Alchemy shouldn´t be worth it just for the transmute.
Tailoring seems to be more pvp relevant with Battleflag buffs and the 32 slot bags needs Hydrocore.
Leatherworking has a lot of Gear to craft but nothing special, e.g. drums which are not needed for shamans.

Both Expulsom and Hydrocore are BoP. This suggests that you should have a team farming Hydrocore so that they all get one at the same time (a full tailor set?) However to make those bags, you're going to need a lot of Expulsom. The current Alchemy cost of 5 Expulsom is about 2700 g.
What's the cost for getting it through the Scrapper? Note: dated data, rerun if you have better figures. Based on the wowhead comment here https://www.wowhead.com/item=152576/tidespray-linen#comments the Tidespray Bracers "cost" 8.5 linen per Scrap. That yielded an Expulsom about every 6 Scraps. It would take 30 scraps or about 255 Tidespray Linen to earn 5 Expulsom. To match the Alchemy cost of 5 Expulsom, it would require purchasing the Linen at 10.5 gold. The current price is more like 16 g or 4,080 g.
Based on this, the value of acquiring 5 Expulsom through Alchemy versus Tailoring is about 1400g. Seems like a pretty good value for something you can log in once a day and accomplish quite easily. 10k g/week value from having the Alchemy daily cooldown on your Tailors, chain run 7 Mythics on the weekend (or one per day) for the Hydrocore for the bags. 50k gold/week just from having the team have Alchemy rather than using Tailoring for 35 Expulsom per.
Edit: Some other profession may be better with Tailoring in the second slot than Alchemy is. I wrote this to demonstrate that Alchemy's daily has a decent amount of value despite how incredibly easy it is to execute. 1400 g/day relative to the alternative (using Tailoring to generate Expulsom)

Using a double gatherer for every toon with double crafting has been crazy good gold with teams setting up in every expansion new and old especially mop living steel is just crazy good
