Hello,

Been AFK for large portion of the last xpac, but am back in BFA. Playing single account, so boring.

Was looking at bringing my accounts back to my usual x5 as I really cannot handle x1
And I saw here and there, some boxers being banned, this concerns me so can anyone let me know is it more of a risk to box now with bans possible ? I saw some thread where forgot who it was, went through weeks of hell before he got his accounts back. <--- this I do not want to risk happening as I would want to still use my main vanilla account with my x4 other accounts I have had for yrs but currently inactive.

I think there have been some outliers where people have been mistakenly banned, but for the most part none of us have been touched. Maybe if anything don't farm in the one spot for hours on end and you won't get looked at.

I never quite understood how boxers COULD farm for hours anyway. I was once banned for killing crocs while skinning on a single toon years ago. The ban was eventually removed but they did warn that my account was "flagged". There's no way I would farm a spot for hours in today's climate!

I understand the addiction of the grind. Doing a boring monotonous task over and over allows the subconscious to calm me, its like doing something without thinking.

I don't necessarily grind gold, but sometimes I get this desire for a certain mount or something and I will farm it for days. The GMs should know that.

The first month i farmed a lot, after the first week of around 4 h or so daily, my entire body was absolutly shot and i had great pain. Imagine mucles beeing used, that never had been used in such a way. I couldnt play at all for 2 weeks. When i got back i found a much slower rythm i could manage to press over longer periodes. Though i still need breaks every so often. The toons will go afk, but there is no risk, i wont die, as the pets will kill any mobs that attack us.

Another trick is to expand: some farm..some DE stuff, some is sniping the ah etc.

You build up a pretty decent stamina over time.

Whenever i need to sit down and read in one of my study books, i also farm. "Double efficience", you could say.

No, multiboxers aren't being banned in WoW now.

To pile on here I've never been banned. Not once since 2008 when I stared boxing WoW.

My usual activities are: Questing, Dungeons, Raids (used to be not so much anymore) and arena. Before the BG follow ban I would 2-3 box BGs.

I never really gathered. I hate gathering.

Well some are by the looks of it ? https://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/54619-Wrongful-ban-and-a-warning-to-those-who-box-to-farm/page2

This has put me off from looking into going back to my x5
As I was a heavily farmer off and on. Only reason why I want to box again after a good 10 month break and playing BFA is to farm + make gold fast, lot's of it. x1 to mine/herb, do profs stuff that, x5 mining herb too easy to not want too and huge fast turn around compared to any solo player.

"Box to Farm" isn't really telling us what was going on but it leads quickly into some automated methods and exploits people typically use when farming. Things not only affecting multiboxers but all players.

Those of us who stick to gathering when doing world quests and little else have never been banned. Not once.

A few multiboxers have been banned since the release of BfA.
A much greater number of solo players have been banned since the release of BfA.
A whole bunch of people doing stand-still farming have been banned over the last few weeks.
The vast majority of multiboxers have not reported being banned since the release of BfA.
It is known, Khaleesi, that people not having trouble don't usually post in the forums, whereas people having problems very frequently do.
It is also known through experience that most people that get banned either do not know why they got banned or actively lie (via omission or otherwise) about what they were doing when they got banned.
What this suggests to me is that, as always, there will be a few but there is no ban wave targeted at multiboxers.

I'm closing this thread as it serves no real purpose.

There are thousands of multiboxers who aren't being banned or suspended from the game, and who are multiboxing with no issues what-so-ever. Every single year a few people post about their suspension, but no one, outside of Blizzard and the person involved, knows what the facts are. This obviously needs to be repeated, but if Blizzard was banning multiboxing from WoW then they'd make an announcement about the change, and not just begin outright banning players from their game.

If you're scared to multibox, for whatever reason you believe to be true, then don't do it—it's as simple as that.
