In recent threads I have read alot of issues with 5 boxing with one computer. And heck the systems you need to do so properly cost near 7k to build. Now i know a cheap 500$ computer can play wow just fine and was thinking about not only trying to 5 box on 1 machine but 5 box using 1 awesome computer (which i own anyways) and 4 other basic to above basic computers. But before investing into these machines I tried to just twobox using 2 computers with keyclone and I am finding alot of headaches trying to get keyclone to connect to the second computer let alone a 3rd and 4th and 5th. Is there anyone with alot of experience with doing this with 5 different machines? I read the instructions on one of the links this site provides but still not able to do it. If anyone can provide me some of their time to understand whats going wrong i would really appreciate it.

First thing you'll have to do is provide us with your basic setup (machines, OS's, router type and brand, how they're connected, service provider, etc.) and the exact description of the problem(s) you're seeing. Then some steps to reproduce the behavior. After that, we might get somewhere.

Have you tried just using a basic keyboard multiplexer? A hardware one like the Vetra is an investment, but you should also be able to get around using Synergy (with broadcasting) or Multibox.
Agreed on trying to get repro steps on the problem, though. If Keyclone can repro your bug he might be able to fix it.

Where did you pull that figure from?

to get keyclone working on multiple machines, there are numerous ways to do this. here is the quickest and simplest way:
1. download and install keyclone on each machine.
2. get a valid license for keyclone ON EACH MACHINE
3. run wow on all machines (any number of machines... 2, 5, 10, 20... up to you) ... keyclone will now have 1 wow line on each machine
4. go to the machine you'll call you main... note the ip and port number in the keyclone titlebar
5. for each of the other machines... type the IP:port into the command area (the edit field to the right of the 'connect' button)
6. click 'connect' on each machine
7. play
that's about it. it really doesn't need to be more confusing. of course, configuring your keyclone for your play style may take longer (like setting up DNP and RR)... but that's up to you.

I run 4 EQ characters each on 6 computers. Multiple computers are the way to go. Even if I was running just 6 characters I would run 6 computers, doing everything in hardware. Its a pain keeping 6 computers up, this month I've just been fixing/tuning my registry and not playing but once your systems are stable (and if you do only clean installs you should be aok) things are great. Also with 6 monitors I can watch 6 movies at the same time...

Cheapest way to multibox 5 computers - go wireless.
Get a Logitech wireless keyboard, get the model number off the receiver, call Logitech and order 4 more receivers, they run about $8 each + shipping.
I did this until I could afford a multiplexer (vetra).
...and then your wireless keyboard batteries die and ALL OF YOUR COMPS ARE LEFT IN THE DUST!!!
No, seriously. I hate having to replace the batteries.
What prevents you from hacking the keyboard and adding a simple "wall wart" style 3v power supply? Turns it into a wired keyboard but you would never have to worry about the batteries. Heck, hook it up to a UPS if you REALLY want to. That thing would last for years!

$10 or so.

Mice seem to eat batteries like crazy. But the wireless keyboard? MONTHS of use without a battery change.
And Xzin read my mind. Hack that thing and add a wall charger. A wired wireless keyboard. Excellent." Hmm that's odd it's usally the other way around for me. I bought a rocketfish mouse like 6 months ago. Original batteries and has never once had a single problem or any lag whatsoever with it.

I bought a rocketfish mouse like 6 months ago. Original batteries and has never once had a single problem or any lag whatsoever with it.This is entirely dependent on the manufacturer. With wireless mice, they set up the firmwarer such that the mouse usually has three operational states: 1) fully awake and transmitting, 2) light sleep and transmitting a quick burst every so often and 3) deep sleep with no transmitting at all. Within those settings they can also tweak how long it takes to go into the next deeper sleep state. Some manufacturers spend enough time and effort that the battery life is 80% greater than the average. Some just do the cheapest thing they can ship and boot it out the door. :P
My logitech El Cheapo(tm) basic cordless (M-RAT95a) mouse that I use for alt quest turnins and flight paths and such hasn't needed a new battery since I bought them several months ago.

hehe thx for all the replies. I will try again what you suggest keyclone. I figured its as simple as that and thats what i thought i did the first time but wasn't workin. I will try again tho and ya that hardware module for hooking up many keyboard outputs might be a wise investment as well.
Also i thought i would bring up a bug.. I have no idea if this has been brought up before but here goes.. I noticed while 2-3 boxing with 1 computer i get alot of issues with keyclone taking me out of the game. I would press tab really fast 3-5 times and it would act as if i hit the windows key or alt tabbed out of game. Annoys the heck out of me if i am playing in full mode. I was talking to someone else who is using it with me and they had the same thing happen and by accident might of noticed the cause but unable to test yet. Basically the person said it usually happens when there is a space between the world of warcrafts in the keyclone application. When they are one over top of each other with no extra space it won't do it. but when there is a full line space between them then it tabs you out.
If anyone wants to confirm that would be great.
Lastly is keyclone still 10$ or has it been raised to 20? I noticed a forum post a week or two about this and just lost track of it so wasn't sure if it had been answered.
Cheers

if you see a space or an empty line in the keyclone list, then it is auto-adding the windows explorer (your desktop explorer) to the list.
to rectify, UNCHECK 'keyclone/setup/auto-add windows titled' and start using commands to start your clones (it's just better anyhow.. better control over your fps and also allows for maximizer)
yes.. the price was changed mid february.
