Whoot finally my first BC instance on farm with 4x 61 Hunters!
All of my hunters are BM spec. 1 has a boar, the other 3 have ravagers. I have 1 boar due to PVP reasons. The charge stun is so OP when 1 second of stun guarentees you get gibbed :)
The strategy I used was basically to approach a pull, spread out hunters and each drop a freezing trap for safety, and attack 1 pet to each mob. Upon pulling the mob, I would immediately 4x heal my pets, and then immediately 4x intimidate stun. While doing standard DPSing (multishot, arcane shot, etc), I would suddenly change all pets to focus on 1 target and I would have all hunters drop that 1 target, 1 target at a time. This method was very quick to burn through the mobs up until the first boss.
First Ramparts Boss: Watchkeeper Gargolmar ('http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=17306')
The strategy here was to mark each target and apply 1 pet per target, 2 on Gargolmar. I would send in the pets with an immediate pet heal (via mend, no healers remember?). After my pets built up about 3 seconds of aggro, I would switch all targets to 1 healer and kill it fast. I'd then blow my Bestial Wrath and trinkets, and burn down the second one. All pets would focus on the main boss and he'd be toast in a few seconds.
The only hard part after this boss is on top of the stairs with those 5x guys who fear. The key here was to stack all my hunters and drop an exploding trap. All pets were set on auto aggressive mode. I then controlled 1 pet and pulled the entire group around the corner to my explosive trap. The second they hit it, I dropped another one. The BW trinket pets chewed the whole group to pieces, with some multishots to boot.
Second Ramparts Boss: Omor the Unscarred ('http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=17308')
This guy was a piece of cake. I spread out the hunters so his DOT curse AOE wouldn't do any damage. I sent in pets w/a Mend to keep their HP up, blew my BW/trinket, and went to town. When he does his AOE aura shadow damage, I pull all pets back but 1 pet, and that pet takes the bullet for the team and dies. By the time the pet is dead, the aura is done, and my other pets get aggro. My hunters easily pick up the felpuppy spawns and the boss goes down hard. The only victim here was an innocent boar named Boar :p
Third Ramparts Boss: Nazan ('http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=17536') & Vazruden ('http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=17537')
I was extremely scared of this fight. I was pretty sure I would wipe endlessly as the problems of controlling your guys around his fire are really, really problematic. I then had a stroke of genius. I rebuilt my formation keys to form a shape that would always push my hunters away from a focused fireball. When the fight started, I had the dragon man down to about 20% before the dragon landed. I decided to keep 2 pets on him, 2 on the dragon, but focus all my DPS on the dragon. I rotated pet tanks via intimidation aggro pulls and noticed my 2 pets on the man had already chewed him to dust. I sent all 4 pets onto the dragon while navigating my hunters around a couple fireballs with ease. 2 pets died in the attempt, but the dragon went down hard.
Healers and Tanks? Overrated :)
