Is there a healer UI that auto targets low health ppl?

Hey there,

Does anybody know of a healer UI/Mod that will automatically target the lowest health person in the group constantly, so you can essentially 1 keystroke heal anybody in your group without paying much attention to who is selected? I remember healers used to do this when raiding and I'm sure they still do.

Any idea on a mod that'll do this simple function?

Auto target does not = automation. Don't you use focus macros? What about how the game auto targets when something attacks you? What about mods that auto target the target of your assist?

Saying auto targetting is automation is a far cry from the truth. You sound like one of those girlish anti-multiboxing people that shout on the forums all day long :)

On a more fruitful note, does anybody know of those auto target low health people mods? I used them back in the day but haven't played a healer in ages.

EDIT: Maybe this was nerfed a while back.. I seem to remember some mod changes about this. Maybe that was the casting part but not the targetting part? Hmm!

Well macros arent outo targeting, outa targetign wud involve a program that reeds the partys HP and then sends a /target NAME and /cast heal automaticly.

I'm not looking for anything to cast spells automatically.

I'm looking for something that can auto target a party member based on the health they have.

Does the Blizz API allow you to target a party member? I guess that is the basic question.

this was a mod, i can't for the life of me remember the name, but it was just as you describe, pressing one button over and over, i remember using it in molten core...but as of patch 2. whatever it was broke and noone ever made another one, best thing now a days is HealBot which lets you click a person's name in a little box to cast a certain heal, ie. left click is flash heal, right click is greater heal and mouse wheel is renew and so on.

It looks like the Blizz LUA ui does not allow you to target during combat. So that nerfs my idea.

However, I have a new one that will come close to accomplishing the same thing.

Basically I am sticking a healer in my party and am trying to think of the best way to coordinate heals. Here is an idea:

What if I had each of my DPS classes a big 2x2 grid on my screen. The grid had a green box, 1 for each DPS class. When a DPS class hit 75% hp or lower, the square would turn red. That would be a quick and easy way to alert me that my guys are getting hit. I can then build a keyboard with 4 big buttons that correlate to the screen and without much brain power I could hit one of those buttons which makes my priest heal.

How `bout that?

I think that would work perfect. So what I need is a way to list the health of 4 (actually 5) people in the form of big red boxes. Any idea? If you're a mod developer, let me bribe you to make a lil mod for me :)

It looks like the Grid UI addon is what I want.

That way all 4 of my hunters have a BIG grid of the health of their party, and then I can just hit my heal buttons regardless of which hunter I'm focused on, and my healer buttons will be based on what the grid tells me on a hunter.

This'll work as a great way to introduce a non-focused healer to a group. Whoot.

there is a macro i use now that targets the target of my target, it's like

/cast [target=target,target] Flash Heal

i can't remember the exact macro but i got it off the forums, it will heal whatever the mob i have targeted with my main has targeted...kinda confusing but it works great, i've had my mage tank bosses with this macro and lived lol

BTW - I just successfully did ramparts ALL THE WAY with just 4x level 61 hunters. This includes the dragon bosses. 0 deaths :p

No, there is no mod/macro/etc. that auto-targets the lowest health person while in combat. Outside of combat, you can still do some of the smart-targeting stuff.

I think Blizzard has said that this is the kind of thing they don't want you to be able to do hence the nerf to the decursive of old. You, as a player, must make the decision who to heal, who to decurse/dispel/cleanse, etc.

In combat, yes. THey moved those calls into protected functions, so that they can't be used by addons unless the user is out of combat.
