Gearing up - ilvl 910+ 8-man

Just posting a quick thread, I know there has been some discussion around gearing recently but I'm more specifically talking about past the 910 mark.

What do you guys find the best way to gear up when you have more than one group?

I'm running 8 toons, I only really socialise and wPvP at the moment, so never really been in to PvE and currently struggling to gear up, mainly because I feel when I put time aside to do it I'm not getting very far simply because I'm so far out of the knowledge.

Current Routine: I'm running all 8 characters in a raid, and clearing the blue dragon quests on the new Broken Isles to farm Veiled Argunite, I'll also pick up the embesarry chest if Lightfall is up. If there is a chest or another star boss on the map I'll take them out too.


This routine seems to slowly get me a piece of 910 every couple of days (simply because of the timeout of the WQ) and I have seen some progression.

Just wondering if there is anything a little more productive/grindy that can do over and over to simply gear. I don't mind sitting there for a while, although I hate all the travelling in the current method!

I have little PvE experience other than a few Mythic at launch of Leigon, however now I've gone from 5x to 8x I would like (if poss) to be gearing them all at same time. I'm running 8x tanks (6x DK, 2x Pally) if that makes any difference to selection of method.

Any BoE drops from current raids that could help you? Clearing the trash up to the first boss over and over sounds like the type of farming you are talking about.

Its not farming but I would also do one mythic +15 a week.

Are the drop rates poor for clearing trash on raids?

I also thought about LFR current as that drops 915??

The drop rates are poor, and people usually use BoE farm for making gold in the AH not for gearing.

But normal tomb drops 900-910. I search youtube and videos of people making 100k an hour farming it for the BoEs.

The BoE thread is what inspired this one, I did wonder if it's feasible.

Doing the current relinquished gear is ok because guaranteed 8x pieces so when you out-gear it, almost still worth it for the procs.

More hands on than any kind of farm :D - Hate traveling around the new area spend half my time lost!!

From what I've been told not really worth it for the gear more gold for the BoE.. the tokens from new area are guaranteed piece of gear for every toon at least for same time spent. The only issue is after 910 you need RNG to get a better piece in the slot.

I'd love somebody who knows to do a guide how they gear 5, 10 etc toons at same time?

Dynamics change when you have multiple groups on the go!!

I just use some of my gold buying raid boost runs and a weekly mythic +15 run = good geared characters.You could even spam high level mythics a lot.

But if you are a "casual player", slowly getting kitted out in the relinquiced gear and then finding the odd bargain buy from the ah, is plenty enough.

How do you do the raid boost? Put all of your toons in a single raid with well geared players that you pay gold to?

My issue with the relinquiced gear is the current method for me needs the WQ up and alot of travel around, at least with the sentax could just rinse and repeat in same location without having to worry too much about what's going on.

Usually just one toon at a time and they boost me thru a full raid clear.
I just ride around and kill all the rares that are up in argus. Dont care about the world quests. Usually after ive killed all i have enough to buy one gear token. And thats what i bother to do that day, in argus. Oh and i do the invasions. Great fun to aggro all mobs and aoetime ;)

Thanks for the advice, to be honest I only recently realised the non-WQ ones drop it too aslong as the dragon is Silver.

Do you ride around and randomly find + from memory or do you have a mod that has them on the map?

Will show location of all rares etc on the world map. So when you kill a rare its symbol disapears from the map. As you can only kill a rare 1 time within 24 hours and get loot from it.

World quests list



Go to your world map and there should be a big list at the top/side that can be expanded and filtered.
Also if you press the button "Search for rares" on the map itself, it will search for any rares that are up within the ingame custom group finder. As soon as it finds a rare, that rare will blink on the map. If you get to the rare and its either there or you can see its dead corpse, its a sign that it will spawn shortly. If you cant see any mob or corpse, and if it doesnt show up very shortly, it wont, just go to the next rare.

Will get them installed this evening. Had a good session last night, a couple of hours casual play (and some wPvP as I go) and got all 8x toons one piece with most only needing a little for the next.

I'm at that stage now where most of my gear is above 910 so rng is the only method of upping this way!

Did get 2x 1000's though :)
