What is the recommended level to be before hitting outland quests for a 5 box team? Since the outland gear is far better than the gear from Strat and Scholo, I was gonna to skip all the 5m instances and just head to outland as soon as I can.
I am currently grinding away on WPL quests and then will move to EPL quest and follow up with Winterspring quests if I need to. I can spend a level or two in BRD to get some better gear, but then I wanted to hit outlands. Currently the team is at lv 53 :)

Well, since most of the gear come w/ the quests... and you can't quest there until 58, I'm gonna have to recommend 58 on this one! If not, you'd be stuck "grinding"... good luck w/ that. You're much better off staying in the old world and questing until 58. Once you hit the Outlands, 58 to 60 should be EASILY obtainable in a single day!

no sooner than 58, a good thing to do in some cases is to go there from 58 to 60 and then go back and finish the Quests in Azaroth with wtf inba gear.

Personally, I went to Outlands when I was 60 or 61... don't remember which. I finished up WPL, EPL, Silithis, Winterspring, all of those old places before hitting the Outlands.
I ding 70 when I finished Nagrand.
Finished Blade's Edge and Netherstorm and now have 2500 gold (AND a regular flying mount) on each of my toons from questing. About to head into SMV soon after finishing up some of the Ogri'la quests.
I would suggest this to make some easy gold from quests. If you hit Outlands right when you hit 58, you'll finish up a lot of the quests and have to rely on dailies for most of your gold for the flying epic.

If you start hellfire quests at 58, be prepared to instance grind before you can go to Zangarmarsh -- you won't be high enough level for the level prerequisites in the next area.
People will also tell you that Nazan in HFP is a pain in the rear. ;)
Keep that in mind when making your decision. I waited until I was 60 to go to hellfire, and since most of the pre-BC level 58-60 areas are completely deserted, I had no problems finding quests.

This, more or less. This is what I did, although I didn't wait until 60, I just hit up enough quests to upgrade most of my slots, and went back to Azeroth to finish out most of the level 60 stuff. One method that is very VERY good for XP is to get your shiny Outland gear, and go back and grind out all the instance quests. They offer about 50% more xp than is typical for a normal quest that level, plus you get to grind on elite mobs and fill out any slots you may have missed in Outland with decent enough blues. Given that you can run scholo, strat, DM E, N, and W, that's a hefty chunk of XP if you do all the quests available. On my group I just hit 60 with, I hit 58 running them through Strat, and then hit 59 on just quest turn ins.

I've done it at 56 on 2 5 boxing groups of mine. The key is to go to the expedition armory area and just grind grind grind. The kills are extremely fast, the drops are nice (even boe blues) and the xp is great!

what i plan to do ( and already am doing ) is use my current lvl 70s to buy my 5 box team full greens from outlands for lvl 58+ or lower if i can. That way I will be set until 60-61ish doing old world quests and instances in UBAH green outland gear 8). i think the lowest level outland greens are 58.. might be lower. But the greens at level 58 are equal to some rare/epics in the old world. As far as main stats/armor and HPs. They are just missing bonuses and extra stats like the Tier sets would have.

Old world xp has been bumped up so much that there's no reason to skip the easy ones. I'd pass the collection quests in WPL/EPL/Sillythus/Winterspring/etc. but the quest xp there is very good and boxers simply annihilate stuff in old world.

I hit outlands at 58 for the gear upgrades then went back to Azeroth and kept questing until 60.
However - with the increase in dailies from 10 to 25, and the shattered sun dailies which don't require a flying mount, it probably doesn't really matter which way you do it now...
Cheers,

Well, if you can stomach AoE grinding at all, I went to Hellfire at fresh 57, and just did the vultures until my eyes bled. There's a LOT of them in a tight spot, just waiting to be rounded up and blasted into tiny clumps of blood and feathers.
They drop HUGE money grey junk. Come with empty bags x5 toons, leave with bling bling.

I wound up running out of quests to do from WPL/EPL/Winterspring. I did every kill quest, and any quest where you deliver something or go and pick up one item. I skipped every collection quest, even if only 1 or 2 items needed to drop, I still skipped it.
At around 56 I finished every quest I wanted to do in those areas and found myself stuck. So I headed off to Silithus. That had about 4 quests for me to do. One of those was a collection quest that had you collecting 10 encrypted twlight texts. So I sucked it up and did it. I'm only 4 boxing, so I only needed 40 :)
Needless to say it wasn't that bad, and the drop rate was pretty good. After finishing all the desirable quests in Silithus I was 70% into 57. So I headed to DM East and grinded that until 58. Only took one run before I dinged 58. Then promptly headed into outlands.
I plan on doing Outlands until 60, then going back to Old world and doing Strath/Scholo/DM for a while. I attempted Scholo @ lvl 59 last night with a few greens from the Outlands. I was burning the mobs down really easily, but since my pets are slightly retarded and I wasn't being careful, I wiped about 3 times. But I'm sure with more patience and being more careful, I can easily clear it.
By just getting about 4 pieces of outlands gear, my hunters went from 3700 hp @lvl 58, to 4900 @lvl59. My Attack Power almost doubled too.

I brought my girls to HFP at 55 but power leveled them in Ramparts with my Warrior until they hit 60. As soon as that happened we started questing...
I did *every* quest in each zone on them minus instances and they hit 70 about 1/3 of the way through the quests in Shadowmoon valley. If you go to outlands at 58 or 59 and start questing be prepared to do a little extra instancing along the way.

I had 2 batches of Mage + Shaman which I was power levelling with my 70 prot Pally.
Then I decided I want a 3rd shaman in my 4-box just 2 Sunday ago, he was lagging behind in xp.
When the 3rd shaman hit 55, I went to Hellfire. The xp was so-so.
I cleared Blood Furnace 2 times. and I got my 2x Mage + 2x Shaman all to 60, and my 3rd shaman was barely 56.
So I decided to go back to LBRS grind, and when I hit level 57.80%, I went back to clear Blood Furnace and cleared it 2 more times.
After I hit 58.5, I started doing Hellfire Quests.
After I completed the dreadful "Collect 12 Blood Boiling" on 3 shamans, I got him to 59.90 with a quest to turn in the Apothecary.
The upgrades are very nice, and I plan to just plow thru the quests that offer immediate upgrades. I think I will be honored in Thrallmar after I complete the 2 instance quests. I then plan to grind Zangarmarsh and Coilfang instance until honored.
Then Terrokar and Auch for Lower City reps until level 65 and honored.

As many have already said, wait until 58. Once you hit the outlands and plow through some quests, you'll be 60 in no time (I did 58 to 60 in one night). After that, things slow down significantly.... but the gear in Outlands is amazing.

With the new quest xp changes I think its very valuable to do all of the quests in Silithus. The zone is empty, not particularly large, and should be worth at least a full level in quest exp.

It is a major pain in the butt... especially since 2 major collection quests open up a large chain of quests.

I need to change my thinking to compensate for feeding 5 children instead of just two. :whistling:

Shouldnt it be possible to do Hellfire ramparts at level 58, maybe only some parts of it? That way you can grind reputation before doing the quests. Or is it too hard?

Sure, at 58 if your group has CC to manage the multi-pulls you could easily clear 1st boss, but I'd guess you'll stall after that. The group of 5 that fear on the top of the stairwell are a $%@#*!**#. At 63 currently I always seem to have someone die. But then, I pull too fast and I get impatient lol.

Second boss should be doable as well, but the area with trash prior to the second and third boss. That's the tough part really.
But yeah, first boss and the area he is in should be easily clearable.
